We’re now halfway through the Learning Curve boxset of Casualty, but the show now won’t be back for three weeks, returning to our screens on 7 March.
However, there’s plenty still in store for fans when the show does return, including new junior doctors, Matty Linklater (Aron Julius) and Kim Chang (Jasmine Bayes) making a major mistake as a result of Kim’s ongoing eating disorder.
Elsewhere, the CQC return to Holby City General and clinical lead Flynn Byron (Olly Rix) is keen to impress, but how will Inspector Ceri Mayland (Gwyneth Strong) see the improvements Flynn has made?
Siobhan McKenzie’s (Melanie Hill) emotional storyline continues as the nurse receives news that her attacker has been caught by police, while Jacob Masters (Charles Venn) and Teddy Gowan (Milo Clarke) continue to butt heads over Teddy’s girlfriend, Ashley Sullovan (Hannah Traylen).
Aware that the CQC have returned, Kim suggests to Matty that they team up for the shift as she starts to suffer from symptoms linked to her eating disorder. As they treat patient Tara, Matty realises that he must perform a risky procedure, but is reluctant to turn to either Flynn or Dylan Keogh (Will Beck) for advice, so asks Kim to walk him through it. As Kim’s vision blurs, she misreads the instructions leading to Matty making a major mistake…
With the truth about Matty’s parentage now out, Dylan believes that his son will be looking for a different mentor, but with Matty pretending that the revelation never happened, he’s more than content to continue working under his father. However, as the day progresses, Dylan appears distant, while Matty balks at the idea of having him supervise a procedure, will the pair be able to move forward?
Teddy is less than impressed to learn that Jacob has made a formal complaint against Ashley after she arrested his son. Teddy manages to persuade Ashley to apologise to Jacob over the incident, but will Jacob be swayed?
After being told last week, the police weren’t able to obtain a DNA sample, Siobhan is overjoyed when she learns that her attacker has been apprehended after a sample was obtained from her uniform. However, she starts to worry when she’s informed by colleague Cameron Mickelthwaite (Barney Walsh) that she had treated her attacker earlier in the day, which could possibly undermine the DNA evidence.
As Ceri returns to Holby City General, she’s impressed by many of the changes that Flynn has brought about. However, when she learns of Matty and Kim’s mistake, could the hospital lose its major trauma status?
