70s TV legends who are surprisingly still acting today — see what they look like now

Alan Alda is best known for playing Hawkeye in iconic sitcom M*A*S*H and has racked up 70 years in the business. Born Alphonso Joseph D’Abruzzo, he was nominated for 21 Emmy Awards, winning five, and became the highest paid TV actor with $250,000 an episode in 1981.

The Oscar nominee is still a strong presence on screen today. Most recently, he’s worked on Ray Donovan (2022) and appeared in an episode of The Four Seasons in 2025, persevering with his career despite a Parkinson’s diagnosis. He’s been married to Arlene Alda since 1957 and has three children.

It’s difficult to pinpoint a decade Sally Field hasn’t left her mark on, from 1989 hit Steel Magnolias to 1994’s Forrest Gump. But 1977 feature Smokey and the Bandit was particularly special as she co-starred with then-partner Burt Reynolds.

Since then, she’s continued to star in big screen hits including Spoiler Alert (2022), 80 for Brady (2023) and Remarkably Bright Creatures (2026). Sally is a mother of three, welcoming two children with her first husband and son Samuel with her second.

Rugged action star Lee Majors was a major crush of ’70s TV with leading credits in The Six Million Dollar Man (1973–1978) and The Fall Guy (1981–1986). Add in a high-profile marriage to golden girl Farrah Fawcett from 1973 to 1982 and his ’70s star power dominated the screen.

He might have left starring roles behind in the ’80s, but he’s no stranger to the screen today. He’s since made guest appearances on shows like Will & Grace and Grey’s Anatomy. He even returned to his ’70s roots with a cameo in the 2024 film remake of The Fall Guy.

While still in high school, Parker Stevenson starred as Gene in A Separate Peace in 1972 and and earned his full ’70s fame as a teen idol in the role of Frank Hardy in The Hardy Boys and Chris Randall in Lifeguard.

He went on to star in Baywatch and is keeping his acting legacy moving with recent roles on projects like Greenhouse Academy (2017–2020) and Last Call in the Dog House (2021), while also working on his passion for photography.

Lynda Carter brought classic superhero Wonder Woman to life on the ’70s series between 1975 and 1979. She got her start on screen earlier in the decade with an episode appearance on crime drama Nakia in 1974.

More recently, she’s taken on a variety of roles, including on-screen acting jobs for projects like Super Troopers 3 (2026) and The Cleaner (2021), as well as video game voice roles for The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Road.

Composer, actor and producer Antonio Fargas starred in well-known ’70s features Foxy Brown and Pretty Baby, as well as TV appearances on The Bill Cosby Show and Police Story. 

Recently, he’s taken on screen roles on features like One Year Off (2023) and Murder City (2023) as well as TV series Everybody Still Hates Chris (2024). He is reportedly now filming for drama Deep.
