Mickey Rourke has been evicted from his home in Los Angeles, according to a court judgement made on Monday. The court documents detail that his rental home, which he has reportedly lived in for more than a decade, would return to the possession of the landlord after the judgment was entered “by default”.

This means that Mickey likely did not respond to the initial complaint. The court also ordered that the rental agreement be canceled and the lease forfeited, with the judgment stating that it was for “possession only”, so the landlord would have control over the property but would receive no financial damages.

According to court filings from December, Mickey had been ordered to repay the $59,100 he owed in rent to the landlord or vacate the property. He was seen moving out of the home in January and has been living in a hotel in West Hollywood ever since.

Mickey’s financial plight garnered publicity in January when his manager’s assistant created a GoFundMe page to raise money for him, which angered the Iron Man 2 star. He took to Instagram to deny any involvement in the fundraiser, sharing that he “wouldn’t know what a GoFund[Me] foundation is in a million years” and that he has “too much pride” to ask for help.

“If I needed money, I wouldn’t ask for no [expletive] charity,” he said. “My life is very simple, I wouldn’t go to outside sources like that.” Mickey’s manager, Kimberly Hines, explained to The Hollywood Reporter that the actor was resisting financial aid and that his house had become unlivable.

“We said, ‘Mickey, there’s some people that want to help you out.’ He’s like, ‘Okay, great.’ I don’t think he understood, and now it’s taken on this media frenzy, and he flipped out,” she said of his viral video.

“In the last 48 hours, we moved him out of his house; we put him up in [a hotel]. The GoFundMe was done for Mickey. That money’s going to Mickey. It’s not going to me. And if Mickey doesn’t want this money now and decides, ‘I don’t want help, it’s like it’s charity,’ the money will be returned.”

She added that Mickey’s home had fallen into a dire state of disrepair. “He has no furniture there because the state of his house was so bad,” Kimberly said.

“My assistant was there, Eric, with his best friend, Frenchie, and they went over, and there was actually even a camera guy who filmed it all. There was black mold. No running water. So basically, we can’t even move any of the furniture out.”

“There was water damage. So he can’t even take most of his belongings with him because all the furniture is completely destroyed,” she explained. “Eric and Frenchie were at his house packing up all of his valuables that could be salvaged, and they were moved to this new apartment.”

Despite Mickey’s bad luck, Kimberly shared that he had received four movie offers in one day since his plight had gone public. “People are emailing him movie offers now, which is great because nobody’s been calling him for a long time.”

The 73-year-old rose to fame in the ’80s with roles in Body Heat, Rumble Fish, Year of the Dragon and Barfly, and continued to find success with projects like The Rainmaker, Man on Fire, Sin City, The Wrestler and The Expendables. He has won a Golden Globe and a BAFTA, and was nominated for an Oscar and a SAG Award for his work in The Wrestler.
