This year’s Cannes Film Festival is right around the corner. Hosted in Cannes, France, the event originated in 1946 and has grown into the most prestigious film festival in the world, known for its impeccable dress code and being the stage for some of the year’s best films. Over the past few years, Cannes has also become a great predictor of Academy Award acclaim, with the festival winners usually faring well come Oscars night.

When is it?
The 2025 Cannes Film Festival begins this May 13 and will conclude on May 24. This marks the 78th edition of the festival.
Who’s a part of the jury?
The jury will be chaired by the French actress Juliette Binoche. She’ll be joined by Halle Berry, Payal Kapadia, Alba Rohrwacher, Leila Slimani, Jeremy Strong, Carlos Reygadas, Dieudo Hamadi, and Hong Sangsoo.
Robert De Niro to receive Honorary Palme d’Or
