Allison Holker is celebrating a new stage in her life. The “So You Think You Can Dance” alum got engaged to her partner, Adam Edmunds, earlier this year. She shared the happy news on social media. Through it all, Holker is also dealing with her complicated relationship with her late husband’s family. Late last year, tWitch’s mom filed a lawsuit against Holker, claiming that her relationship with her grandkids had changed following the loss of her son.
Connie Boss Alexander, tWitch’s mom, filed a lawsuit requesting more time with her grandkids, as reported by The Daily Mail.
In the documentation filed by September of last year, Connie filmed a Petition for Grandparent Visitation against Holker, claiming that her relationship with her grandkids had deteriorated following her son’s death and that she was rarely allowed to visit them anymore.
“My hope is that this Court can grant me limited grandparent visitation in a way that neither infringes on [Allison’s] autonomy or disrupts their life. I believe it in the best interests of the Children to continue to have a relationship with their father’s family, especially now that he is no longer present in their lives,” reads the filing, as reported by The Daily Mail.
Connie claims that following her son’s death, she no longer received phone calls and FaceTimes from the kids. “I did my best during that first year to stay in touch and maintain some consistency, especially for the sake of the Children. But it became difficult as Respondent (Allison) began distancing herself, often expressing frustration over public comments she believed our family should have addressed,” continues the filing.
Holker claims the opposite, stating that Connie was always welcome in her house and that she facilitated these phone calls and other forms of communication.
More details about Holker’s new relationship
About a week ago, Holker shared the news of her engagement to Adam Edmunds, an entrepreneur she’s been dating for the past year.
The couple was first linked together in 2024, with Holker sharing a photo of their shadows holding hands and captioning it with a simple heart emoji. They made their first public appearance at New York Fashion Week, walking the red carpet of some shows together.
They celebrated their engagement earlier this year, with Edmunds proposing at a surprise birthday party for Holker.
“I am so in love with you Adam. Baby, I am forever grateful for you and the impact you have had in my life and my kids lives,” she wrote on an Instagram post, adding various photos of the night, where she wore a red gown.
“I am a better person because of you. You helped me find me again and showed me how to love. Every morning I wake up I feel safe knowing you are my person at my side. You and your kids coming into our lives has been the biggest blessing.”
