Two years after the tragic passing of her husband, Stephen “tWitch” Boss, Allison Holker took to social media to pay tribute to the beloved dancer, DJ, and family man. Holker shared a heartfelt message alongside a family photo: “Our Angel @sir_twitch_alot is watching over us and protecting us. You are always in our hearts, and we will always love you. We miss you, Stephen. Two years with you not here, but you are always on our minds. We love you.”
Stephen “tWitch” Boss, known for his infectious energy as the DJ of the no longer-existing “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” tragically died at the age of 40 in December 2022. Reports indicated that he passed away from a gunshot wound in a Los Angeles hotel. The news devastated his family, friends, and fans worldwide, who remembered him as a beacon of positivity.
In a statement following his death, Holker shared with People how much he meant to their family and community: “Stephen lit up every room he stepped into. He valued family, friends, and community above all else, and leading with love and light was everything to him. He was the backbone of our family, the best husband and father, and an inspiration to his fans.”
Reflecting on his multifaceted personality, Holker later revealed on Taylor Lautner and Tay Lautner’s podcast, “The Squeeze,” that while tWitch’s extroverted persona delighted millions, it wasn’t his natural state. “He wore this character of tWitch, and it did become a part of who he was, but that extroverted personality was not natural for him. It would drain his energy,” she shared. Holker also expressed that, despite the love he received, Stephen often felt undeserving of the admiration, which drove him to give even more.
Holker has been open about her journey through grief while raising their three children—Weslie, 16, Maddox, 8, and Zaia, 4. In her conversations with People, she emphasized the importance of creating a safe and open environment for her kids. “I want my kids to feel so safe and comfortable with me that no matter what they’re feeling… nothing is off the table,” she explained.
Recently, Holker shared a glimpse of her path toward healing by soft-launching a new romance on social media. Holker showed a shadowed photo of two hands intertwined with a simple heart emoji, showing her willingness to embrace love again. The announcement was met with an outpouring of support. “Finding the courage to open your heart again speaks to the resilience of your spirit and the beauty of the love you shared,” one commenter wrote.
Holker then revealed she found her happiness with her boyfriend, Adam Edmunds.
