Amal Clooney turned an airport appearance into a stylish mother-daughter moment. The 48-year-old human rights lawyer was photographed alongside her mother, acclaimed journalist Baria Alamuddin, at Athens International Airport following a busy professional visit to Greece.
Amal embraced understated travel style in a fitted olive green maxi dress. The short-sleeved design featured flattering ruching gathered at one hip and a thigh-high side slit, balancing comfort with a subtly glamorous finish.
She coordinated the muted dress with flat brown leather sandals, an oversized suede weekender bag and large square sunglasses. Gold bracelets and delicate hoop earrings added polished touches, while her engagement ring provided extra sparkle.
For her beauty look, Amal wore her highlighted brunette hair in a voluminous blowout with softly curled ends and face-framing layers. Her makeup appeared natural and luminous, completed with a neutral lip.
Baria complemented her daughter’s earth-toned palette in a flowing white blouse with patterned semi-sheer sleeves and wide-leg brown trousers. She accessorized with a woven wide-brimmed hat, oversized sunglasses, a statement watch and woven platform shoes.
Although their outfits were not identical, the neutral colors and relaxed silhouettes created an effortlessly coordinated effect.
The images also captured Amal staying close to her mother as the pair moved through the airport with their luggage, bringing a sweet personal dimension to the fashion moment.
At the Temple of Olympian Zeus, Amal joined UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Costantza Sbokou-Constantakopoulou for a panel titled “Artificial Intelligence and Culture.”
The discussion explored AI’s growing impact on culture and the importance of protecting human creativity, diversity and shared values as the technology continues to evolve.
“We have seen prolonged conflicts in multiple parts of the world, with people increasingly divided and operating in echo chambers,” Amal said during the event. “Culture is an antidote to that because it reminds us of our shared interests and experiences.”
During her time in Athens, the lawyer also met with Greek President Konstantinos Tassoulas and Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis. Her meeting with the prime minister included discussions about culture, cultural diplomacy and the potential reunification of the Parthenon Sculptures in Athens.
The subject has long held significance for Amal. In 2014, the Greek government commissioned Doughty Street Chambers, where she practices as a barrister, to examine possible legal avenues related to the sculptures.
Her professional wardrobe was just as memorable as her relaxed airport look. For the UNESCO engagement, Amal wore an ivory three-piece suit composed of flared trousers, a V-neck vest and a cropped jacket. Baria took a more playful approach in a polka-dot ensemble featuring feathered trim and layers of bold red necklaces.
From immaculate tailoring at a UNESCO gathering to coordinated earth tones for the journey home, Amal and Baria demonstrated that their shared sense of style works just as well during professional engagements as it does in transit.
