It’s been six months since Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor moved into his new home, Marsh Farm, on the Sandringham estate.

While security renovations were carried out before his move, the disgraced former Prince will still be experiencing many firsts at his home. Following his first summer in Norfolk, after being evicted from Royal Lodge in Windsor in February 2026, Andrew will be preparing for the weather to turn and autumn to sweep through King Charles’ 20,000-acre estate.

This will not only mean cooler dog walks with his late mother Queen Elizabeth’s corgis Muick and Sandy, but it will also come with an element of danger, according to the Sandringham estate website.

Potential danger for Queen Elizabeth’s Corgis at the Sandringham estate

In the ‘Bring your Dog’ section, the property outlines the rules and regulations for guests with furry friends. One of the points warns: “Please be aware that September and Autumn are the periods when cases of Canine Seasonal Illness have been seen at Sandringham in the past.”

While it reassured guests that CSI is a “rare illness” and cases have “dramatically declined” since 2010, there is no known cause or cure. Therefore, pet owners are encouraged to look out for symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhoea and tiredness that develop “within 72 hours of being in a woodland area.”

Woodland covers roughly 5,000 acres, about one quarter, of the estate. Although Andrew’s residence is located on the western edge near Wolferton, surrounded by low-lying farmland and coastal salt marshes, it remains in close proximity to these forested areas.

Since Andrew has been spotted walking the pooches near his home, they could be within reach of the threat should they venture into the wooded areas.

Marsh Farm was briefly mentioned in the publication The King’s Homeland (circa 1904), where the location was referred to as near “limitless ooze.”

“For a few minutes’ stroll along the rough marsh roadway, which branches off from the main road through the village near a farmhouse known as the Marsh Farm, will bring him to the embankment, or sea-wall, which protects the reclaimed land from the sea.

“But he must not expect to find beyond this sea-wall a shingly beach or a stretch of golden sand, for not of such are the shores of Wash. Instead he will see, if the tide be out, an apparently limitless expanse of gleaming – and often steaming – ooze,” it read.

Other issues that plague Andrew’s property include potholes on the road leading up to the house, molehills on the front lawn and even a potential flood risk, according to an Environmental Agency document.

The former farmhouse was previously home to a farmer who tended to the nearby fields. Its humble five-bedroom interiors pale in comparison to Andrew’s former property, Royal Lodge, which boasted 30 rooms and 21 acres of grounds.
