Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s Marsh Farm preparations are heavily underway, and as his suggested April move-in date looms closer, workers were spotted erecting an electric fence surrounding the Norfolk property.
The former prince, 66, is currently residing in Wood Farm on the Sandringham Estate in East Anglia while he waits for renovations on the five-bedroom farmhouse to be completed.
He was stripped of his titles last October by his brother, King Charles III, and was evicted from his former Grade-II listed Georgian mansion, Royal Lodge in Windsor, where he lived with his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, for around two decades.
On Thursday, 19 March, less than two weeks out from his rumoured moving date, workers were seen driving materials to build an electric fence towards the Wolferton property on a quad bike.
A team of khaki-clad workmen were putting up the new fencing around the perimeter of Marsh Farm. The latest addition comes after removal lorries from Gander & White were spotted delivering Andrew’s belongings to his new house earlier this week, supposedly transporting his art collection from his southern mansion.
A £2000 fridge by renowned make Polar, and a large cardboard box with the word “wardrobe” on the side, were also delivered to the farm in preparation for the father-of-two’s arrival.
A flurry of security measures
The electric fence is the latest in a variety of security measures taken by the former prince, who was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office in February. It comes after the erection of a six-foot-tall wooden fence with a metal clasp on the top of the doors so that it can be sealed shut.
Earlier this month, a fresh, pale coloured wooden gate was installed in the middle of the new fence that was placed in front of an older gate, presumably to block the view of the farmhouse.
The tall double-doored gate means only the roof of Andrew’s newest home is visible when standing on the path outside the property that sits on the edge of the small village of Wolferton.
With the fence and gate in place, the two-storey home will be protected from the nearby road, and it was also reported by the Eastern Daily Press that a trench was dug across the drive between the farmhouse and a barn next door.
A Sky TV dish has been seen arriving at the home, as have carpet fitters and HELLO! understands that workmen from family-run company Linney Cooper, which holds a Royal Warrant, have been seen at Marsh Farm.
They previously supplied the carpets for Andrew’s Royal Lodge, which he moved out of at the start of February, alongside his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, who was also living at the Windsor property.
