Anne Hathaway looked incredible as she was spotted heading to an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday, with the star proudly displaying her growing baby bump in a stylish black ensemble.
The 43-year-old was smiling as she sported a ruffled, sleeveless top with a plunging neckline and a flared hem, paired with relaxed wide-leg pants and peep-toe heels.
Her brunette locks cascaded down past her shoulders in subtle waves, and she completed the look with sunglasses and layered gold jewelry.
Anne dispels baby bump rumors
Anne’s appearance came just a day after she walked the red carpet at the LA premiere of her upcoming film The End of Oak Street in a stunning blue Prabal Gurung halter top with red lining. The outfit showcased her pregnant belly, a fact which sparked a controversial debate online as to whether the bump was real.
“Bump looks fake to me. I don’t know what it is, but it just looks fake,” wrote one social media user, while another added: “Idk if it’s the shape or her belly button but it looks fake,” and a third chimed in: “I’m sorry, but that belly to me looks like the one you can get off Amazon. I’m just saying.”
Fans stepped in to defend Anne in the comment section, with one calling her the “hardest-working pregnant person in Hollywood,” while another shared: “The cutest bump…it’s so important seeing working moms and celebrating growing humans.”
Anne quickly addressed the speculation in an Instagram video that saw her getting ready for the premiere event alongside a team of makeup artists and hair stylists. “Fake hair, real bump,” she quipped in the caption.
Her third pregnancy
The Odyssey star is pregnant with her third child, after welcoming her sons Jonathan, 10, and Jack, seven, with her husband, Adam Shulman. She announced the happy news on Instagram on June 19 with a clip of her holding her pregnant belly, set to the tune of “Baby, I’m Yours” by Barbara Lewis.
Anne shared with People that her third pregnancy felt markedly different as she had grown so much as a mother.
“You know, I was in my 30s with my other two, and I’m so different now…something happened when I turned 40,” she explained.
“I just realized that this isn’t a dress rehearsal. It’s all real. I’m not, like, saving it up for my future self. It’s all happening right now. And so I think I’m just better at being present in the moment, living in gratitude, not taking anything for granted.”
Adam’s steadfast support
The mother of two has had a whirlwind year, having led five films – The Devil Wears Prada 2, Mother Mary, The Odyssey, The End of Oak Street and Verity.
Anne told People that her intense schedule wouldn’t have been possible without the support of her husband.
“He supports me completely. This year in particular was unusual. He and I both know that it’s probably never going to happen like this again,” she said. “And the way he stepped up, I mean, in every possible way, he’s the most extraordinary person I’ve ever met.”
“It’s one thing to have dreams,” she added. “It’s another thing to have somebody who helps you achieve them. I absolutely would not be able to have achieved what I’ve done without my husband.”
