Antonela Roccuzzo and Daniella Semaan were all smiles this week as they enjoyed a Mediterranean escape with their children in the beautiful town of Portofino. The two longtime friends, both partners to football legends Lionel Messi and Cesc Fàbregas, were spotted enjoying their time together and exploring the seaside with their families.
Their bond, one of the strongest among football’s inner circles, is not new. The friendship between Antonela and Daniella has been nurtured over more than a decade, evolving to sisterhood.
Back in June, Antonela posted a heartfelt birthday tribute for her best friend, sharing warm words. “Happy birthday, Dani. I’m so lucky to have you in my life. Here’s to many more amazing memories together! I love you always.”
Just a few months ago, in November 2024, Daniella made her way to Miami, where Antonela and her family now live. Their reunion was marked by a spontaneous karaoke session. “Finally together,” Daniella captioned a video showing the pair belting out a tune in the car.
Semaan currently resides in Italy, where her husband coaches Como 1907, while Roccuzzo lives in the U.S. However, they have continued to spend fun moments together, often with their children.
In May 2023, they met up in Lake Como for another dreamy getaway, this time without their husbands. With six children between them, three each, the families looked like one big extended unit. “Como you piece of Art,” Daniella wrote, sharing photos of their adventures.
Their kids, Thiago, Mateo, and Ciro Messi, and Lia, Capri, and Leonardo Fàbregas, have grown up together and are friends, making the connection between the two families genuine and lasting.
This enduring friendship started during Messi and Fàbregas’ time as teammates at FC Barcelona and in youth national squads. From those early days, the couples spent time together, and Antonela and Daniella developed their own special connection.
“I wish everyone had a Dani in their life,” Antonela posted back in January 2025. “I love you and I miss you, Daniella Semaan.” To which Cesc Fàbregas responded, “So true! And you’re the best friend anyone could have!”
