Arnold Schwarzenegger has worn many titles over the years. From weight lifter to Hollywood star to the governor of California, the 77-year-old legend deserves some downtime, or what his son Patrick calls a midlife crisis. But he’s not doing it alone – he has a whole fleet of animals by his side.

During an appearance on Literally! With Rob Lowe, Patrick gave listeners a hilarious glimpse into his dad’s animal-filled lifestyle. “He has embraced this new kind of act of life,” the 31-year-old said. “It’s just… Doctor Doolittle meets this mid-life crisis, but happiness and calmer side of life. It’s really funny.”

Arnold’s pets include a mini donkey named Lulu, a mini pony named Whiskey, a pig named Schnelly,  and four dogs ranging in size: Cherry, Noodle, Dutch, and Schnitzel. And they are living luxuriously, with their own spots at dinner.

“There’s this picture of him at dinner,” Patrick said, “with the miniature donkey behind him on one side, the mini horse on the other, the pig at his feet eating, the chihuahua on his lap, and the massive 180-pound Malamute husky over by the horse.”

And yes, each animal gets its own special treatment. “He’s got homemade oatmeal cookies for the horses, a special soup the pig loves, custom meals for the dogs… It’s out of a movie. It really is,” Patrick added.

Honestly, that last part might be more literal than you’d expect. Rob Lowe teased that a film based on Arnold and his pets might actually be in the works. “Brian Grazer has a movie he’s developing about Arnold and the animals,” Lowe said. Patrick confirmed: “I saw him literally yesterday, and he brought it up… I’m hoping it happens.”

Between the dogs, pig soup, and oatmeal cookie rituals, it sounds like a film we need to see.
