Aubrey Plaza has become a mother for the first time after reportedly welcoming a baby girl with her partner, Christopher Abbott.
The 42-year-old actress was photographed carrying her newborn in New York City on Sunday, August 9, following what was reportedly Christopher’s final Broadway performance in Death of a Salesman.
According to TMZ, the Parks and Recreation star gave birth during the final week of July, although Aubrey and Christopher have yet to publicly announce their daughter’s arrival or reveal her name.
The happy news comes just months after Aubrey debuted her growing baby bump in April, following reports that she was expecting her first child.
Christopher, 40, later confirmed his excitement about becoming a father during an appearance on Today in May, describing the pregnancy as “very exciting.”

While it remains unclear exactly when Aubrey and Christopher’s relationship became romantic, the pair have known each other professionally for years.
They starred together in the 2020 psychological drama Black Bear, before reuniting for the 2023 Off-Broadway production of Danny and the Deep Blue Sea.
Their new arrival marks the first child for both actors. Christopher, who rose to fame playing Charlie Dattolo in Girls, previously dated House of the Dragon actress Olivia Cooke between 2015 and 2020.

Aubrey’s journey into motherhood comes following an incredibly difficult period in her personal life.
Her estranged husband, filmmaker Jeff Baena, died by suicide at the age of 47 in January 2025. The couple had reportedly been separated for several months before his death.
Aubrey and Jeff had been together for a decade before marrying in May 2021, spontaneously tying the knot at home while wearing tie-dye pajamas. Following his death, Aubrey and Jeff’s family released a joint statement describing their loss as an “unimaginable tragedy.”
“We are deeply grateful to everyone who has offered support,” the statement read. “Please respect our privacy during this time.”

Seven months after Jeff’s death, Aubrey spoke candidly about navigating grief during an emotional appearance on her former Parks and Recreation co-star Amy Poehler’s Good Hang podcast.
“Right in this very, very present moment, I feel happy to be with you,” she told Amy. “Overall, I’m here and I’m functioning.”
The Emmy-nominated actress described her grief as a “giant ocean of just awfulness,” explaining how its presence could change from one day to another.

Aubrey also credited the people closest to her with helping her find moments of joy during an extraordinarily painful period, revealing that her “funny friends” could still make her “laugh really, really hard.”
