Bad Bunny‘s Super Bowl Halftime show has inspired much conversation, from his surprise guests and the songs they performed, to the fact that it hosted a real wedding on the football field.
According to an NBC News reporter, the couple featured on a segment of Bad Bunny’s show depicting a wedding party was married for real. “This is incredibly cool — A source familiar with Bad Bunny’s performance tonight tells me that the couple in the halftime show got married for real,” reads the message, first shared on X.
About five minutes into Bad Bunny’s 13-minute performance, a bride and groom were seen getting married, both wearing white, with a smiling officiant declaring them wed. The pair kissed and parted, revealing Lady Gaga and Los Sobrinos, who performed a salsa rendition of “Die With a Smile.” It was one of the biggest surprises of the night.
The couple was then seen dancing, cutting the wedding cake, and enjoying a bite while Bad Bunny performed around them or in the background. According to reports, the couple had invited Bad Bunny to their wedding, with him inviting them to the show.
The bride wore a dress designed by Hayley Paige. “Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine one of my wedding dresses making a cameo at the Super Bowl. Seeing [the dress] during Bad Bunny’s halftime show is, well, loco. But what makes it truly special is that it’s worn by a real bride on her wedding day,” she said in an interview with Page Six.
Celebrities at Bad Bunny’s casita
The Super Bowl halftime show featured a medley of some of Bad Bunny’s most famous songs, taking inspiration from his most recent tour, which depicted a stage inspired by Puerto Rican sugar fields and a small house that featured a reggaeton party.
On this occasion, various celebrities and personalities were spotted in Bad Bunny’s casita, including Pedro Pascal, Karol G, Young Miko, Jessica Alba, Alix Earle, and David Grutman. They were all seen dancing and singing as Bad Bunny performed on the home’s rooftop.
Throughout his performance, Bad Bunny was joined by Ricky Martin and Lady Gaga, both of whom shared sweet tributes following their performance.
“You’re gonna have to give me some hours to understand the tsunami of emotions I’m feeling. Thank you Bad Bunny, thank you Lady Gaga, thank you NFL, RocNation, and Apple Music,” wrote Martin, sharing some photos and videos alongside Gaga and Bad Bunny.
Lady Gaga shared her performance on her Instagram. “It was my absolute honor to be a part of Benito’s halftime show. Thank you Benito for inviting me and thank you to the entire cast for welcoming me onto your stage. I wouldn’t miss it for the world.”
