Michelle Obama shared a touching tribute to her husband, former President Barack Obama, in celebration of his 65th birthday on August 4.

The father of two was beaming in the photo that his wife posted to social media, as he sat beside her and held her hand. Michelle rested her head on his shoulder in the snap, sweetly peering up at him with a look of love.

While Barack looked dapper in a navy suit and a white button-up shirt, Michelle was dazzling in a white dress with a sweetheart neckline, paired with white slingback heels.

Michelle celebrated Barack’s special day with a tribute

“Happy birthday @BarackObama! 65 never looked better. Every day, you make me a better person, and I’m thankful for all the ways you show up for our family and our country. Love you,” she wrote in the caption, as fans rushed to the comment section to exclaim over Barack’s seemingly ageless visage.

“You are one cool cat!” said one fan, while another wrote: “Respectfully of course…Barack is fine af!”

Others commented on the Obamas’ sweet connection, with one declaring: “Wowwww! Best presidential couple,” while another chimed in: “You can tell they really like each other.”

Barack shared that he still felt good at 65

Barack recently opened up about being in his 60s, and revealed how he tries to keep up with his wife. “I feel good, I mean look…I don’t look as good as her,” he said in reference to Michelle in an interview with People.

“Of course you do,” she replied. “It’s because you don’t dye your hair. You could have made the choice.”

“Yeah, it’s too much trouble, but I feel great,” the former politician continued. “Now I will take folks on for a game of Horse (a basketball shooting game). We can have some shooting contests. I am not running up and down that court because I want to protect my knees and my Achilles. I don’t want to be in a boot.”

Barack added that he had to be careful not to push himself too far. “I’m in good shape if I’m just running north-south. You start getting me sideways, and I start worrying about something kind of going [wrong].”

“Michelle, obviously she looks spectacular, but she is way ahead of me on the whole stretching and flexibility tip. And that is my next stage,” he explained.

Exercise fiend

During his time on the campaign trail and in the White House, Barack was a stickler for his daily workouts, and tried to exercise for 45 minutes a day, six days a week.

The former president fit in a workout almost every day

“His logic was always, ‘The rest of my time will be more productive if you give me my workout time,'” said his former campaign manager, Jim Cauley, in an interview. In Barack’s memoir, he wrote about fitting in workouts amid the chaos of the campaign trail.

“I’d wake up after five or six hours and try to squeeze in a workout at whatever facility we could find (the old treadmill in the back of a tanning salon was memorable), before packing up my clothes and gulping down a haphazard breakfast,” he wrote.

The Obama Center also shared a tribute to the 65-year-old

Meanwhile, The Obama Foundation shared a tribute to their founder on his special day with several snaps of the 65-year-old. “Happy birthday, President @BarackObama! With the opening of the Obama Presidential Center, we think your 65th year was one of your most special…if we do say so ourselves!” the caption read.

“Today, we’re celebrating President Obama and the countless moments that have shaped his extraordinary journey. From the South Side of Chicago to the White House and back home again, his belief in the power of people continues to inspire us to create change in our own communities.”
