Beyoncé took to Instagram on Thursday evening to share a plethora of dazzling new, fashion-forward photos with fans that showed off her brand-new hairstyle.
We last saw the singing sensation share pictures of herself back in November, when she headed to the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Las Vegas, and she sported a head of fabulous curls, which were long and flowing. This shorter look is quite the change.
In the carousel of snaps, the Grammy Award-winning artist wore a green leather coat, which she layered over skinny jeans and a butter yellow bandeau top. Her hair was cut just past her eyes and looked thick, full and luscious.
This style is known as a French bob, which was a huge hit in 2025, and Queen B is bringing it into 2026 with a bang. “We have seen a lot of French bobs over the last year, and different ways of wearing them,” celebrity hairstylist Michael Gray tells HELLO!.
“I am in love with Beyoncé’s new French bob and everything about it. It’s cool, yet sophisticated. It’s giving ‘old school money’ vibes with the honey blonde and shadowed roots, which make it look not too ‘done’ or overtly blonde,” he notes.
“The tone and depth really complement her, and the overall cut stands out,” he adds. “Her bob has been styled with volume and movement around the front, with the ends bent under to give dimension. This can easily be achieved by a ceramic hot brush,” the talented professional said.
Beyoncé’s colour change
Beyoncé’s hair has been coloured lighter, and Christel Barron-Hough, Founder of STIL hair salon in Fulham, tells HELLO! it’s referred to as ‘Blanche Blonde’. “It’s a colour that looks especially strong on the shorter hair styles which are trending now, like Beyoncé’s,” she notes. “There’s definitely a shift towards very fashion-forward, shorter hair styles at the moment, which feel like a bit of a reset for the year ahead.”
