Bigi Jackson looked so grown up in a rare appearance for the youngest son of the late Michael Jackson, as he enjoyed a meal with friends in Los Angeles.
The 24-year-old, who is fiercely private and rarely appears at public events, sported a blue T-shirt with white print on the front that read “Quint’s Shark Fishing”, as well as black sweatpants. He appeared laid-back and casual as he joined his friends for lunch.
Bigi, who changed his name from Blanket in 2015, was born via surrogate in 2002, and his mother’s identity was never revealed. He is incredibly close with his older siblings, Prince and Paris, and was just seven years old when Michael passed away.
“Any moment that I get to spend with my siblings now, especially as we’re getting older and our own lives are starting to blossom and grow, every moment that I get with them, any little family dinner, any family outing, is really a special moment,” Prince told Good Morning Britain.
“At this point in our life, it doesn’t really feel like there’s that hierarchy of, ‘I’m the older brother,'” he continued. “It’s more [that] we’re all siblings, and we’re kind of all on the same level where my sister has her strengths, and my brother has his strengths, and where I’m not as strong in certain areas, they complement me in that way.”
Paris, who is a model, actress and singer, acknowledged her close relationship with Bigi in a touching 18th birthday tribute to her brother in February 2020.
“My little brother is a legal adult today,” she began on social media. “I used to change his diapers. This is such a trip…proud of the handsome, intelligent, insightful, funny, and kind young man he has become. He likes privacy, so that’s all I gotta say. Hbd lil bro.”

While Bigi typically keeps a low profile, he gave a rare interview in 2021 where he discussed his passion for climate change advocacy. “That’s what each of us [siblings] want to do – make things that people enjoy but also benefit their lives,” he said on Good Morning Britain.
“I do think it’s important we all know about [climate change]. We have some work to do, but our generation knows how important it is.” Bigi’s appearance in Los Angeles comes just a month before the biopic based on his father’s life, Michael, is set to be released.
The film stars Jaafar Jeremiah Jackson, Michael’s nephew and the son of Jermaine Jackson. The film’s release was delayed several times, and is set to drop on April 24. Joining Jaafar onscreen is Colman Domingo as Michael’s father, Joe Jackson, Nia Long as his mother, Katherine, and Kat Graham as Diana Ross.
“I never dreamed to be an actor or even thought of playing him. But I knew it was a calling,” Jaafar said in a behind-the-scenes video.
“Embodying Michael, I really had to earn the role and prove to the filmmakers that I was capable of becoming Michael. Essentially, it was starting at the roots and finding the authenticity.”
