Savannah Blackstock Lee, the 23-year-old daughter of music manager Brandon Blackstock, shared her excitement about growing her family, just one month before losing her father to cancer.
The Florida-based realtor, who already shares a 3-year-old son, Lake, with her husband Quentin Lee, took to Instagram on July 5 to reveal that she’s expecting a baby girl in January 2026. The heartfelt post, now private, offered a glimpse into the joy and gratitude she’s felt in this new chapter.
“We’ve been keeping a couple sweet surprises,” Savannah wrote. “One little girl will be making her arrival at the beginning of January and another beautiful girl named Julianna who has already been one of the greatest blessings to our family.”
She thanked God for His faithfulness during this season, saying, “He’s written a story we never could’ve imagined, and His kindness in this season has left us in awe. He’s answered prayers we never even knew how to pray. This journey has been so special full of peace, excitement, and so much grace. We’re growing again, and our hearts are so full. Thank you, Jesus.”
Savannah and Quentin’s announcement comes just weeks before the devastating news that her father, Brandon Blackstock, passed away on August 7 at the age of 48 after a three-year battle with cancer.
A Blended Family with Deep Roots in Music
Brandon Blackstock was the father of four. He shared Savannah and her brother Seth with his first wife, Melissa Ashworth, whom he married in 2001. The couple divorced in 2012. He later married Kelly Clarkson, with whom he had two more children — daughter River, born in 2014, and son Remington, born in 2016.
Blackstock and Clarkson’s marriage ended in 2020, and their divorce was finalized in March 2022. While his career as a talent manager kept him in the entertainment spotlight, those close to him knew his greatest pride was in his role as a father.
A Month of Contrasts
The timing of Savannah’s announcement and her father’s passing paints a deeply emotional picture. Her pregnancy reveal celebrated new beginnings, while just weeks later, her family faced the heartbreaking end of Brandon’s life.
For Savannah, the months ahead will likely be bittersweet. She’s preparing to welcome a new daughter, while also navigating the grief of losing a parent.
In a statement shared with PEOPLE, the Blackstock family expressed their gratitude for their support during this difficult time.
“It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away,” the statement read. “Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family. We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time.”
Brandon’s death leaves a significant void in the lives of his children, friends, and colleagues.
