Brown University Reports Active Shooter Situation on Campus

Multiple people at Brown University have been injured during an active shooting situation … according to Providence, Rhode Island police.

The university shared news of the shooting Saturday afternoon … updating students and members of the community that an active shooter was near the Barus and Holley Building on the east side of the campus.

While university officials previously said a suspect is in custody, a later alert corrected that error. There is no one in custody at this time … and, the admin still recommends those on campus stay quiet and lock themselves inside buildings if possible.

Video is already circulating online, which shows officers walking from their police cars into the building.

It’s a large group … with approximately 10 cops marching up to the door and heading inside. It’s hard to tell if they have guns drawn in the clip.

We’ve reached out to local police and officials at Brown University … so far, no word back.
