Last night was the Latin GRAMMYS, and it was an unforgettable evening filled with epic performances and awards honoring the biggest names in Latin music. The eccentric, funny, and incredibly unique CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, hailing from Buenos Aires, Argentina, entered the awards with 10 nominations and walked out with five trophies. That puts them on a level with Bad Bunny, who also hauled in five. Plus, they made history as the most ever nominations for any Argentine artists in a single edition of the Latin Grammy Awards.

Just a little over a year after their viral Tiny Desk, they headed to Las Vegas and were among the stars at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, arguably shining the brightest. Dressed head to toe in Versace, they commanded every space they were in with their untouchable style and energy. They also took the stage, blessing the audience with a medley of their hits, “IMPOSTOR,” “LA QUE PUEDE, PUEDE,” and their two Song of the Year nominees, “#TETAS” and “EL DÍA DEL AMIGO.” With the help of shirtless men, their swaggy, confident, raspy, and infectious energy made it one of the best performances of the night.

Tied with Mexican legend Edgar Barrera for the second most nominations after Bad Bunny, they won 5 awards at the Latin GRAMMY Premiere Ceremony:  Best Alternative Song, Best Long Form Music Video, Best Alternative Music Album, Best Short Form Music Video,  and Best Pop Song.

Following the win, Paco shared his surprise in the press room. “Honestly, there were a couple that surprised us, and we started screaming. And those are the ones that matter, because surprise is the most beautiful thing in the world. If you lose the sense of surprise, you’ve got nothing left,” he said.

Their music stands out because it’s different. Their instrumentals are incredible, their flow amazing, and their lyrics, raw, cheeky, and hilarious. When it comes to their creative vision, Paco said they want everything to feel like a party when they’re in the studio. “When we make music, we just have fun, we have a good time, we try to make making music feel like a party. So that’s the only thing I can tell you: we have a lot of fun and we really love the people we work with on these awards,” he shared.

As for what’s next, they’re focused on their next album, which Paco said is called Top of the Hills, but according to an HOLA! Insider is likely a joke, because they haven’t actually announced it yet. Regardless of what the name will actually be, they think it’s going to “blow everything up.” “We get bored with everything, so the way we choose what’s next is just trying not to get bored. That’s our way of surviving in such a hostile world,” Ca7riel shared.

Proving to be professionals at going viral, they sealed their win with a kiss. Naturally, the moment has started a rumor that they are gay and a couple, which our insider also says is not true.

The duo, often mistaken for brothers due to their shared surname, consists of Catriel Guerreiro (aka Ca7riel) and Ulises Guerriero (aka Paco Amoroso). They met way back in primary school when they were six. They sat in music workshops together, one strumming guitar, the other violin, eventually forming a rock band called Astor y las Flores de Marte in 2010. They officially became a duo in 2018, shifting into the experimental-trap/funk/hip-hop/pop world, and are among the first wave of Urban musicians in Argentina.

Fast-forward to 2024, and they dropped their debut studio album, Baño María, in April 2024. But everything changed when they lit up the international scene with their viral Tiny Desk session, released on October 4, 2024, which has garnered 45 million views at the time of this publication. Riding the wave of success, they went on tour, opened for Kendrick Lamar, and have played at the world’s biggest music festivals, venues, and stadiums. If you ever get a chance to see them live, do not miss it. Along with their band, they are undeniably two of the best performers in music.
