The harmonizers might be over the moon as for the first time in over six years, Fifth Harmony — minus Camila Cabello — hit the stage together again. The reunion happened on August 31 at the Dos Equis Pavilion in Dallas, where Lauren Jauregui, Normani, Dinah Jane, and Ally Brooke surprised fans as special guests on the Jonas Brothers’ JONAS20: Greetings from Your Hometown Tour.

The Reunion That Nobody Saw Coming

When Normani stepped up to the mic with a simple “Y’all remember Fifth Harmony,” the crowd went wild. The four women launched into a choreographed performance of their 2015 smash “Worth It” and then rolled right into “Work From Home,” reminding everyone why their group became a pop powerhouse in the first place. For many fans, it felt like stepping into a time machine, back when the group dominated radio, award shows, and every teen playlist.

The timing couldn’t have been more perfect. Earlier this year, The Hollywood Reporter revealed the group was exploring a reunion documentary and possible tour. Add to that the fact that the official Fifth Harmony account resurfaced on X (formerly Twitter) just hours before the show with the hashtag #FifthHarmonyFollowSpree.

Camila’s Public Stamp of Approval

While Cabello didn’t join her former bandmates on stage, she made it very clear she’s still in their corner. Shortly after the performance, she shared a fan video of the reunion on Instagram. In the comments, she dropped four red heart emojis.

That move didn’t go unnoticed. Fans were quick to point out that Cabello’s gesture felt like a full-circle moment, especially considering the group’s rocky split. When she left in December 2016, the departure sparked plenty of drama. The remaining members released a blunt statement saying they learned of her decision “via her representatives,” while Cabello followed up with her own note saying she was sad to leave but wished the others nothing but success.

Fast forward to 2024, and her supportive post suggests the “bad blood” narrative can officially be put to rest.

A Long Hiatus Finally Broken

Fifth Harmony’s last official concert was in May 2018 at Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida. Just two months earlier, the group had announced they were going on an indefinite hiatus to pursue solo careers. Since then, each member has carved out her own lane with Normani exploring R&B-pop, Cabello as a solo pop star, Ally Brooke in Latin-infused pop, Dinah Jane blending R&B with Polynesian influence, and Lauren Jauregui with her alternative, soulful sound.

But Saturday night’s performance proved that no matter where their solo paths lead, the legacy of Fifth Harmony is alive and well.

Pop groups have a way of defining an era, and Fifth Harmony owned the mid-2010s with hits like “Worth It,” “Work From Home,” and “BO$$.” Their reunion, even without Cabello on stage, sparks hope that the door isn’t closed on something bigger. The teaser hashtag, the industry whispers about a doc and tour, and now Cabello’s very public show of support all point toward a future where fans could see the full lineup together again.
