The Monaco Grand Prix isn’t just one of the most iconic races in Formula 1, it’s also a major social event the principality uses to show itself off to the world’s wealthiest. Prince Albert II has his family’s full support, especially from the younger generation, who are usually the most careful about when they appear. Race day, the main event on the famously tough urban track, is also a favorite for Monaco’s royals. That’s when the younger Grimaldis, Casiraghis, and Ducruets were spotted together, including Alexandre Grimaldi, the son Prince Albert had eight years before marrying Princess Charlene.

The Formula 1 Grand Prix was the moment when the 21-year-old, who’s studying business management, was seen enjoying the event with his Ducruet cousins—Princess Stéphanie’s children. It’s worth noting that Stéphanie is also his godmother and one of the key people who’s helped make Alexandre part of the new generation.

The news broke during a particularly sensitive time for the Grimaldi family, as Prince Rainier was elderly and in poor health—both physically and emotionally. He had never fully recovered from the death of his wife, Princess Grace, and was deeply affected by the loss of Stefano Casiraghi, especially because of the pain it caused Princess Caroline and her three young children.

Once Prince Albert took over as head of state and assumed full control of Monaco’s royal household, he had no issue publicly embracing his role in Alexandre’s life, as well as in the life of his eldest daughter, Jazmin Grace. “Jazmin Grace is my older sister, and I love her just as much as I adore my two older siblings on my mother’s side. We all get along really well,” Alexandre said in his most recent interview. He also mentioned feeling lucky to have understanding and loving parents.
