Céline Dion looked radiant as she stepped out of the Royal Monceau Hotel in Paris on Monday, just days after she made her first public appearance in two years.

She paired the look with textured black leather knee-high boots, a leather clutch and stylish black sunglasses, and wore her blonde locks pulled back into a tight bun.

Céline waved to her fans outside the hotel as she left to prepare for her upcoming residency in Paris, which will mark her first onstage performance since she sang at an Elie Saab event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in 2024.

The “My Heart Will Go On” singer stunned fans on Friday when she made a rare appearance after almost two years away from the public eye, amid her battle with Stiff Person Syndrome, or SPS.

SPS is a rare neurological disorder that causes painful symptoms like muscle spasms, mobility issues and rigidity throughout the body. Céline was diagnosed in 2022 and was forced to cancel her tour at the time, but has spent years working to get back onto the stage.

She announced her return in March on social media, revealing that she would perform a 10-show residency in Paris, which was extended to a total of 26 shows due to overwhelming demand.

The mother of three will kick off her first show on September 12, and will take a break from mid-October until May.

“I’m so ready to do this. I’m feeling good, I’m strong, I’m feeling excited, obviously, [and] of course, a little nervous,” Céline said in an Instagram video announcing her return.

“I’m doing great, managing my health, feeling good. I’m singing again, even doing a little bit of dancing. But I have to tell you something very important: Over these last few years, every day that’s gone by, I felt your prayers and support, your kindness and love. I am grateful to all of you. I can’t wait to see you again.”

Céline got candid about returning to the stage and putting on a spectacular show, sharing with Harper’s Bazaar: “It’s been so long, I would like to offer [fans] something to show how I’ve missed them.”

“They paid for tickets. They bought my records. They gave me that luxury. So the least I can do is tell them that I’m alive,” she added. Her preparation for the upcoming shows has involved frequent and intense Pilates sessions as well as thrice-weekly ballet classes to keep her in shape.

Céline’s sister, Claudette Dion, revealed to HELLO! Canada that the powerhouse singer was working hard to alleviate her symptoms and return to the stage to be with her fans. “She’s doing everything to recover,” Claudette said. “She’s a strong woman.”

“It’s an illness we know so little about,” the 77-year-old added. “There are spasms – they’re impossible to control. You know who people often jump up in the night because of a cramp in the leg or the calf? It’s a bit like that, but in all muscles. There’s little we can do to support her, to alleviate her pain.”
