Céline Dion’s twins Nelson and Eddy look all grown up as they support her major comeback

It is difficult to recognize the two young boys who once accompanied Céline Dion during some of her public appearances. Nelson and Eddy Angélil have grown up, and their latest appearance in Paris proves just how much they have changed.

The singer’s twins are now 15 and will celebrate their 16th birthday in October. The teenagers resurfaced alongside their mother as she prepares for her highly anticipated return to the stage following several challenging years shaped by her battle with stiff-person syndrome.

Wearing glasses, with one of the brothers sporting facial hair, Nelson and Eddy looked noticeably different from the childhood images many fans remember. The youngest sons of the ‘My Heart Will Go On’ singer accompanied their mother to the French capital, where Céline is putting the finishing touches on her upcoming shows.

Two deeply wanted children who had to grow up quickly:

Nelson and Eddy were born in Florida on October 23, 2010, after Céline and her late husband, René Angélil, underwent six rounds of in vitro fertilization and experienced a miscarriage.

Their names each carry a special meaning. Eddy was named in honor of producer Eddy Marnay, who played an important role at the beginning of Céline’s career, while Nelson’s name was inspired by Nelson Mandela.

The twins are the youngest of Céline and René’s three sons. Their older brother, René-Charles, is 25 and has pursued music like his parents. Nelson and Eddy were just five years old when their father died from throat cancer in 2016.

From relying on their mother to learning how to help her:

Years later, Nelson and Eddy had to learn how to assist their mother. After Céline was diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome in 2022, the teenagers practiced with her and her physical therapist so they would know what to do if she experienced a medical crisis.

The singer previously explained that the family has panic buttons inside their home and that her sons know how to place her safely on her side. She said it was important for them to understand her condition because they were old enough to recognize that she might sometimes need their help.

Her sons became an essential source of support throughout the years in which her health forced her to step away from performing. Céline has also made it clear that motherhood has always come before her career, previously saying that she views being a mother, rather than being a singer, as the center of her life and her greatest reward.

Céline begins again in Paris:

Céline and her sons are now in Paris for a very different chapter. The superstar is preparing to return to the stage with a series of concerts at Paris La Défense Arena after high demand reportedly led to additional dates being added.

Her powerful performance during the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics demonstrated that her voice remained as moving as ever. Her upcoming residency, however, will present a greater physical challenge as she prepares to perform complete concerts on consecutive dates.

To rebuild her strength and stamina, Céline has reportedly been completing 90-minute Pilates sessions three times a week, along with two ballet classes each week.

When announcing her comeback, the singer said she felt ready, strong and excited, while admitting that she was also understandably nervous about returning to the stage.

With Nelson and Eddy by her side, Céline is preparing to reunite with her fans and begin one of the most meaningful chapters of her extraordinary career.
