Cher’s son Elijah Blue Allman’s wife Marieangela King has filed for divorce after 11 years of marriage. The ‘Believe’ hitmaker’s son initially had a divorce dismissal request granted by a judge over a year ago, but Elijah and Marieangela King separated on March 31.
According to court documents seen by PEOPLE, Marieangela has now filed for dissolution of marriage and cited irreconcilable differences.
In the court documents, it’s said she is seeking $6,000 per month in temporary spousal support, as well as ownership of the couple’s 2017 Toyota Prius. If Cher’s son Elijah decides to keep the car, she would want “an additional $2,000 one-time payment and $500 per month in spousal support”.
She has also requested her ex pay attorney fees. In a statement, she told PEOPLE: “We had a beautiful 13-year journey, filled with memories I’ll always cherish.
“I know we’ll remain friends, and Elijah will always hold a special place in my heart. As we turn the page to this next chapter, we kindly ask for privacy and truly appreciate your understanding.”
Elijah initially filed for divorce from Marieangela in 2021, only to file to dismiss it “without prejudice” in January, which was granted by a judge.
At the time, Cher had filed an ex parte motion – which was denied by a judge – to place her son under a temporary emergency conservatorship, citing his alleged substance abuse issues and mental health struggles.
In his own filing objecting to that request, Elijah said he and Marieangela were “reconciling and cohabiting”, noting that his famous mother “objects” to the reunion and “refused” to fund family law counsel.
In her own filing at the time, Marieangela said they lived “together as a married couple”. She continued: “Elijah is a brilliant musical and conceptual artist and a king, thoughtful, and generous man.”
“He is the love of my life and I absolutely adore him. He is also a recovering drug addict and alcoholic.”

“This outcome allows the parties to focus on healing and rebuilding their family bond, a process that began during mediation and continues today.”
