Cher’s son, Elijah Blue Allman, has been arrested following an alleged disturbance at a New Hampshire prep school.
The Concord Police Department confirmed to People that the 49-year-old was taken into custody on February 27 after officers responded to reports of an unwanted guest at St. Paul’s School in Concord.
Authorities allege that Elijah was acting belligerently in the school’s dining hall. He was subsequently charged with criminal trespass, criminal threatening and disorderly conduct along with two counts of simple assault, adding that he was processed and released on personal recognizance with a future arraignment date.
The arrest comes amid ongoing concerns surrounding Elijah’s health and wellbeing. In June 2025, he was admitted to a medical facility following what authorities described as “erratic” behaviour.
At the time, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that drugs were located inside the home where he was found prior to his hospitalisation.
In December 2023, Cher filed for temporary conservatorship over her son’s estate, citing what court documents described as severe mental health and substance abuse struggles.
However, she later voluntarily dismissed the petition in September 2024 after reaching a private agreement with Elijah.
Elijah’s health struggles have been public knowledge for years. In a candid 2014 interview with ET, he admitted that his drug use began as early as age 11 and escalated into heroin and opiates.
Speaking at the time, he said: “I was just looking to escape all the things in my past and that’s when you turn to those kinds of drugs… heroin kind of saved me. If I didn’t have that at that point, I don’t know what I would have done. You may jump off a bridge.”
He continued: “I had some close calls and some moments of really feeling at the edge of mortality… Even though you think in your mind that you’re being careful, the wrong things can happen. The wrong combination of things can happen and you can just slip into the abyss.”
Elijah is Cher’s youngest son with her late ex-husband, musician Gregg Allman. Neither Cher nor Elijah has publicly commented on the latest arrest.
