Christina Aguilera marked Valentine’s Day with a stylish seaside escape alongside her longtime fiancé, Matthew Rutler. The singer shared a PDA-packed Instagram carousel from the boating getaway, giving fans a glimpse of the couple’s love-filled celebration.
For the occasion, Christina opted for denim cutoff shorts paired with a white knit sweater featuring a sultry off-the-shoulder neckline and black trim. She accessorised with small gold earrings and oversized black sunglasses, striking the perfect balance between casual and glamorous. Her signature blonde hair flowed in soft waves, while her makeup featured rosy tones, sun-kissed skin, fluttery lashes, and a matte mauve-pink lip.
Meanwhile, Matthew, 40, looked effortlessly suave in a classic white T-shirt layered under a white jacket with black trousers. In several snaps, he wrapped his arm around Christina’s waist as the couple smiled against a dreamy ocean backdrop. The Genie in a Bottle hitmaker captioned the post, “Happy Valentine’s day to the world’s best sailing buddy.”
The Valentine’s Day tribute also included a few throwback moments from Paris, France. In one photo, Christina wowed in a semi-sheer white gown adorned with sparkling embellishments, a plunging neckline, and a cinched black belt detail. She later changed into a dramatic red ballgown with an off-the-shoulder neckline and a voluminous skirt, while Matthew complemented her in an all-black ensemble with a long coat and lace-up boots.
The holiday holds special meaning for the couple, as Christina and Matthew got engaged on February 14, 2014, after meeting on the set of the movie Burlesque in 2010, where he worked as a production assistant. The pair welcomed their 10-year-old daughter, Summer Rain, later that same year. Christina is also mother to 18-year-old son Max Liron, whom she shares with ex-husband Jordan Bratman.
Despite being engaged for more than a decade, the pair have expressed no urgency to walk down the aisle. In a past interview, Christina explained, “Our love is secure enough that we don’t need a wedding to prove our commitment. We are enjoying our daughter, our family and our work for now.” The singer added she and Matthew are still “very much in love”, even if they are not actively looking to tie the knot just yet.
