Christina Applegate revealed a whole new look in her first video post since being hospitalized in March. The veteran actress showcased her stunning new hairstyle in the clip, with fresh blonde highlights and pin-straight locks framing her face.
Christina appeared relaxed in the video as she sported a black tank top under a zip-up hoodie, paired with blue jeans and stacked gold necklaces.
“Fresh hair color, new weird spot on my cheek haha,” she captioned the post. “Thank you @davestanwell for brightening up my cloudy day. Love you and love to you all out there.”
Her friends and fans took to the comment section to exclaim over her stunning hairstyle, with Real Housewives of Miami star Marysol Patton writing: “There she is,” while actor Henry Winkler added: “You are truly powerful,” and A-lister Octavia Spencer commented a series of fire emojis.
The actress has been open about her struggles with MS
The post comes over a month after Christina returned home following a months-long stay in hospital. While the mother of one has not revealed the reason behind her hospital stay, she has been open about her battle with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) since her diagnosis in 2021.
MS is an incurable disease that sees the immune system attack the protective coating around the nerves (myelin), which in turn stops the brain from sending signals to the body. Symptoms can include extreme fatigue, numbness or tingling, balance issues, muscle spasms and vision problems.
Christina was rushed to hospital in March, and kept quiet on social media until April when she shared a brief message with fans.
“Thank you for the outpouring of love and well wishes. Health issues are a constant for me, but I’m a strong chick, and I’m getting stronger and better every day,” she wrote. “I’m taking a moment to focus on my health, but I’ll be back with more to say soon enough.”

The 54-year-old has been hospitalized more than 30 times since her diagnosis, and revealed that she spends most of her days in bed dealing with the debilitating symptoms of the disease.
“One of the worst side effects of the illness is the exhaustion. It feels as though I’ve been on a three‑day sleepless bender – and that’s how I feel after a good night’s sleep. Hence all the time I spend on and in bed, snuggled up against my heating pad,” she wrote in her 2026 memoir, You With the Sad Eyes.
The actress rarely leaves her house due to the debilitating symptoms
“I used to be invincible. I loved running. I loved Peloton, I played tennis, and I really loved to dance,” she continued. “I want to pick up the guitar over by the wall, but my hands cramp. I used to love saying to Sadie, my amazing daughter, ‘Yes, of course I’ll take you wherever you want to go in the car.’ Now, I often can’t drive her anywhere.”
She previously shared on her podcast, MeSsy, that sometimes the pain became so unbearable that she was left screaming. “I lay in bed screaming – like, the sharp pains, the ache, that squeezing,” Christina detailed.
“I can’t even pick up my phone sometimes because now it’s traveled into my hands, so I’ll, like, try to go get my phone or get my remote to turn on the TV, or sometimes, I can’t even hold them. I can’t open bottles now.”
“I just lay in bed all the time. I mean, I worked for almost 50 years, so I’m like, I’m kind of okay with it.”
