The series follows Max Arnold, a determined detective living on a rundown houseboat in Chelsea, who investigates murder cases in the dark underbelly of London’s richest borough.
In the first series, DI Arnold teamed up with no-nonsense DS Priya Shamsie (Sonita Henry) to solve crimes before being paired with strong-willed detective, DS Layla Walsh (Vanessa Emme), for seasons two and three.

The opening episode, Death on the Aether, sees the duo investigate the death of an undercover journalist, whose body is pulled from the Thames. Other cases in the four-part series include a gangland shooting and an architect thrown off a balcony.
