couple breaks up after 2 years

Bella Hadid and Adan Banuelos were rodeo royalty, but the couple has reportedly broken up. The horse lovers were together for two years, looking adorably perfect, but things were reportedly not as they seemed. 

Entertainment Weekly reported the split on Monday after Hadid shared some sizzling bikini snaps and videos on a yacht. A source told the outlet the model is “doing her best to stay positive and distract herself since their split.” 

“She’s been staying busy with work and spending time with close friends. She is still processing the breakup since it was a very serious relationship,” they continued. Hadid moved to Texas, bought a house, and was even competing on his Cutting team.

An insider later told Page Six that they have been on and off again and their relationship was “tumultuous.” They said things are complicated because they have business ties after purchasing million-dollar horses together. 

At the time of this publication, they still follow each other on Instagram. 

When was the split?

The couple seemed to be doing fine until at least December 9. British Vogue shared photos of him at her Orebella pop-up in Dallas. The couple posed together, looking very much in love. Page Six said they heard whispers about a breakup in late December. 

On her birthday, Adan shared a post on Instagram, writing in the caption, “October’s become a special month. It’s the month God sent you. Even with all the chaos and ugliness, He gave us something pure and beautiful. Love you, baby. I’ll keep reminding you every day just how much.”

Things were serious

As the source said, things were serious between the couple. Hadid seemed to have gotten very close to his family, too. For her 29th birthday post, she shared a gallery on Instagram, and in the mix was a picture of her making a heart with his dad, Ascension Banuelos.

Later that month, she attended one of her family members’ quinceañeras and was not only a guest but also her godmother. 

Adan the cowboy 

Hadid told Allure how their love story started when she saw him at an event. “I saw him walk in, and it was like a gust of fresh air,” she said. “So he basically came in, walked into the exhibit hall, which is where we do all of the show stuff. I was getting a cowboy hat fitted. I just saw him and I was like that’s the… I always wanted the cowboy.”

Adan is the #1 NCHA Leading Open Rider in 2018, 2020, 2021, and 2022, and has amassed over five million dollars in earnings aboard a horse, according to his website. He was inducted into the NCHA Hall of Fame in 2017 as one of the youngest inductees ever, joining his dad.
