Amid their ongoing and very public fallout, David Beckham and his eldest son, Brooklyn Beckham, were reportedly staying under the same pink roof at the iconic The Beverly Hills Hotel, and somehow managed to miss each other. Twice.
According to a report by The Daily Mail, David checked in late Sunday after a ski trip to British Columbia with Romeo, from whom they both shared updates.
By Monday morning, he was out early, heading to Santa Monica to film a commercial ahead of the upcoming World Cup. Just hours later, Brooklyn arrived at the hotel for breakfast and what onlookers described as a relaxed pool day after partying into the early hours at Elton John’s Oscars bash.
Brooklyn was reportedly seen lounging poolside mid-afternoon. By early evening, David returned to the hotel and dined at the Polo Lounge with friends, including longtime family friend David Gardner. Depending on who you ask, they may have missed each other by only hours – maybe less.
Sources claim David had no idea his son had been there. “‘Brooklyn also probably had no idea that his father was staying in a room just yards away from where they were having their breakfast,” a source told the outlet.
The insider noted that “if fate had intervened and they did come face-to-face, it would have been very awkward.” “Brooklyn has made it very clear he doesn’t want anything to do with David or Victoria, so it probably saved a whole lot of upset for David,” they continued, saying it would have been “awful.”
“David looked like he was having a great time when he was at dinner; you wonder if that would have been different if he had known he had missed his son,” the source continued.
David and Victoria have reportedly been estranged from Brooklyn for months. From the wedding drama with Marc Anthony, to Brooklyn blocking his own family and eventually publicly accusing his parents of trying to control his life and interfere in his marriage, it’s been nonstop, messy headlines.
One clear thing is that everything is going great with Brooklyn and Nicola’s parents. This week, he shared an emotional post for his mother-in-law, Claudia Peltz, wishing her a happy birthday on Instagram, calling her the “best mother-in-law,” adding “Love u so much and hope u had the most amazing day.”
The post came the same day as the U.K. Mother’s Day, adding another sad layer to the drama, since he did not post anything for Victoria.
