“All You Need Is Love” may be the title of a legendary song by The Beatles, but it also served as the sentiment behind Demi Moore’s tribute to Bruce Willis on his latest birthday.
The ‘Substance’ star marked the occasion by sharing a touching new photo of her ex-husband with his granddaughter, Louetta, as he turned 71.
In the image, the toddler, who is about to turn three, sits in Willis’ arms while planting a kiss on him, capturing a tender family moment.
Alongside the photo, Moore expressed that all he needs is love as she wished him a happy birthday, using the message to highlight the warmth and affection surrounding him at this stage of his life.
Through additional family photos shared on her social media, she further emphasized the strong bond and support system that continues to define Willis’ world.
Willis stepped away from acting in 2022 due to ongoing health challenges. He was first diagnosed with aphasia, a condition that affects language and communication as a result of brain damage.
His condition later progressed, and he was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, a neurodegenerative disease that gradually impacts reasoning, behavior, and communication. Since then, he has been living in a carefully supported environment, surrounded by loved ones and under constant medical care.
Despite their divorce, Moore has remained closely connected to Willis. The former couple, who were married from 1987 to 2000, have maintained a strong relationship centered on their three daughters, Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah, especially as he continues to need unwavering support.
Even before his diagnosis, Moore had spoken about feeling more connected to Willis after their separation than during parts of their marriage.
Their divorce, finalized in 2000 after 13 years of marriage, was widely reported as both difficult and highly publicized. According to reports at the time, Willis agreed to a financial settlement estimated at around €78.5 million, marking the end of one of Hollywood’s most closely watched unions.
For years, Willis was believed to be responsible for the breakup. However, Moore later offered a different perspective in her 2019 memoir, where she opened up about her own struggles with mental health, addiction, and a deeply personal crisis during that period.
She acknowledged that she was not at her best at the time and praised Willis for being a devoted and responsible father to their daughters while she navigated a turbulent chapter in her life, including her later relationship with Ashton Kutcher, which she has since described in less-than-positive terms.
Beyond their past challenges, Moore and Willis have built a lasting friendship rooted in mutual respect, affection, and a model approach to co-parenting, similar to other well-known former couples such as Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck, or Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin.
Over the years, they have shown how a difficult separation can evolve into a strong and supportive bond, attending family events together, spending time as a blended family during the 2020 lockdown, and continuing to celebrate milestones side by side.
Moore also maintains a close relationship with Willis’ wife, Emma Heming, often expressing gratitude for the unity and harmony within their extended family. Heming, for her part, has embraced Moore as part of that circle, a dynamic that was established long before Willis’ illness.
In this new chapter, Moore has, in many ways, become an advocate for Willis’ legacy and emotional well-being. Through her words and the images she shares, she continues to reinforce a simple but powerful idea, that he is surrounded by love, from his daughters, his wife, his granddaughter, and his former partner, who remains a close and supportive presence in his life.
