Drew Barrymore is so real! The award-winning TV host proved she’s just like the rest of us when it comes to skin concerns, and shared a new photo on social media of herself following a trip to the dermatologist.
Not one to hide behind filters, the actress posed while standing in front of skincare clinic, Spotless, having gone there to receive treatment after getting a breakout.
The makeup-free star looked fresh faced in the picture, while pointing to her chin. In the caption, she wrote: “I couldn’t be more excited about the incredible @spotlessclinics. I love this place so much. When breakouts happen, my friend and dermatologist @dramywechsler knows exactly what to do about them!
“She and her daughter @zoewechsler opened @spotlessclinics, a walk-in acne clinic in NYC where the clinicians are all trained by Dr. Amy herself.
“Pimple shots, extractions, peels, prescriptions, consultations… all the things you want when a breakout shows up. So happy to see this beautiful space come to life.” Fans were quick to comment on the post, with one writing: “You are gorgeous!” while another wrote: “Thanks for being so real.” A third added: “You don’t need it, your skin is beautiful!”
Drew Barrymore’s NYC life
Drew has been living in New York City since 2016, following her divorce from her children’s father, Will Kopelman. The award-winning actress wanted to be close to her ex for the sake of her two children, Olive, 13, and Frankie, 11.
The family lives in a beautiful Upper East Side apartment and also has a home in the Hamptons.
The actress often shares glimpses inside her home on social media. It boasts lots of period features, including a fireplace and high ceilings, along with quirky touches like patterned wallpaper. It’s also been praised for being so “normal”.
After she shared a video of herself preparping food from inside her kitchen back in January, comments included: “Can I get an amen for just how normal Drew’s kitchen is,” and “This is so refreshing to see!” as well as “I love that her kitchen looks like everyone’s, small and simple.”
Drew’s family life
Drew previously opened up about co-parenting while appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2017. She said: “I so wanted to raise kids in this ultra-traditional way and do everything so the polar opposite of my experience. You can talk until you’re blue in the face, but kids watch what you do every single day of your life, all day long, and that behaviour and that example and that love and community and honesty is what’s making everything feel safe for my kids.”
Drew previously revealed that her daughters were keen to follow in her footsteps as an actress but that she was taking it slowly by just agreeing for now to school plays rather than anything in the public eye.
Talking to People, she explained: “As a parent, I would really love to support my kids when they’re older. Again, what number is that? I don’t know, but it’s not 13 and it’s probably not 14. It’s up there, but your kid will present themselves in a way where you’ve got to listen to them and support them and trust them.”
