Drew Barrymore remained open-minded while undergoing a huge transformation to her appearance.
During The Drew Barrymore Show, the actress along with Valerie Bertnelli, gave full autonomy to celebrity hair stylist Chris Appleton, to create a before-and-after moment.
Before Drew checked out her new hairstyle in the mirror, Chris announced: “Welcome to the gray side Drew Barrymore.”
Drew’s jaw dropped when she saw the drastic change from her signature brunette hair to silver hair.
She complimented Chris and shared: “Chris, you are so gosh darn good at what you do. I have to admit, I love it…I am in shock. I thought I would hate it. I love it. I’ve never seen myself like this.”
Val, who underwent the same transformation to gray, told Drew: “You need to see your eyes close up. Your eyes are sparkling.”
Drew’s transformation
Drew admitted: “I cannot believe how good I feel about myself. That’s what you do for people [Chris],” as Chris called them “power sisters.”
Val continued: “I was afraid I would look a lot older,” as Drew interjected: “Me too,” and Val quickly confirmed: “You do not.”
Chris advised the audience: “If you are thinking about going gray or embracing the gray, it’s all about personalisty and finding out who you are. These were full transformations just to see how much fun you can have, but also play with wigs.”
He continued: “Wigs are such a great way – try them on [and see], ‘do I like this? Do I like what this says about me?’ But don’t be around if it feels different and it’s a change. It’s about embracing it and having fun.”

The entertainer got personal about how she sees the current era that she’s in.
She revealed: “I was like ‘I don’t wanna look [old]…I’ve already [been] single for 10 years. How far am I gonna go with this?’ I was like, ‘This could be the exclamation mark that makes me feel like I’m put out to pasture…'”
Her audience members vocally rejected her statement as she comically replied: “Well, you know what? You be single for ten years. Trust me.”
She explained: “You start to go, ‘wait is this a choice’ and the truth is, it is. I haven’t met somebody that makes me feel that way. I’m on a little bit of a different journey.”
The actress shared advice with an audience member who was on the fence about going gray with her hair. Drew expressed: “Change in hair is not permanent. It is a place to be playful. So when you’re ready…I hope this gives you some confidence, cause it’s really changed my mind.”

Although Drew loved the transformation, some of her fans weren’t on board, as they flocked to the comments on social media.
One person wrote: “Drew looks too young for that color! I think Val and Drew need to switch lol.”
A second person added: “Not ready for gray Drew just yet! Valerie looked stunning!” Another person continued: “Drew looks beautiful in any color! Too young for gray just yet.”
One person commented: “Love it but not ready,” while another fan wrote: “Drew…you are too young to be gray!!!!!”‘
