Dua Lipa showcased her incredible physique as she slipped into a series of tiny bikinis for a sun-soaked getaway.
The 31-year-old singer gave her 88million Instagram followers a glimpse inside her tropical escape, sharing a carousel of photographs that showed her making the most of some well-earned downtime.
In one selfie, Dua displayed her washboard abs in a blue-and-white striped triangle bikini top, accessorizing with oversized gold earrings while wearing her dark hair slicked back from her face.
Another striking photograph showed the “Levitating” hitmaker standing at the edge of the water in a tiny string bikini as she gazed out over the ocean.
Dua switched things up again for a day of sunbathing, reclining on a bright blue towel in a black bikini featuring jeweled detailing around the waist, which she teamed with a navy NYC Palace baseball cap and gold hoop earrings.
In another mirror selfie, the singer highlighted her toned midriff in a tiger-print bandeau top and tiny denim shorts, accessorizing with a chunky gold bangle and a backwards red baseball cap.
Dua Lipa treats her body ‘like an athlete’
While Dua certainly knows how to relax when her schedule allows, her toned physique comes alongside a demanding fitness regime designed to give her the strength and stamina required for her energetic performances.
The Grammy winner revealed to British Vogue that during her Radical Optimism tour, her packed days could begin at 6.30am and include yoga, reformer Pilates, weight training and dance rehearsals.
She explained that she looks after her body “like an athlete”, while also treating her voice as a muscle that requires consistent care. It’s a philosophy that appears to have changed the way Dua thinks about her body.
Reflecting on approaching 30 last year, she told the publication: “I feel the most confident I’ve ever felt. I feel very empowered and strong in my body.” She added of performing: “I feel good when I’m sharing my energy with people on stage,” explaining that she had become “better at taking care of myself and working out and dancing.”
The secret behind Dua Lipa’s washboard abs
Reformer Pilates has become a particularly important part of Dua’s routine. The singer is now co-founder and chief creative officer of Frame, an at-home reformer Pilates company, and told Vogue that the practice has helped build the core strength she needs to dance and perform onstage in heels night after night.
She doesn’t limit herself to Pilates, however. “I love mixing up lots of different training, finding different workouts in whatever city I’m in, whether it’s yoga, Pilates, boxing or spinning,” she has previously explained.
Her trainer Sora Connor has also revealed that Dua’s workouts aren’t exclusively about her abs. “We always work the entire body,” she told Women’s Health. “Sometimes it’s more core-focused, other times it’s glutes.”
“The main objective is to work the muscles so that they become strong and toned,” she added. Dua has, however, previously revealed a few of the exercises behind her famously strong core, including bicycle crunches and leg raises. Planks also make the cut, although she admitted they are “almost certainly my least favorite!”
Dua’s daily wellness ritual
Even when her schedule makes a full workout impossible, Dua tries to begin her day with some form of movement. “For my mindset, waking up every morning doing a workout of some sort of Pilates or yoga” is important, she told Vogue last year.
“If I don’t have time, really don’t have time, then I’ll take 10 minutes for meditation or a stretch.”
Yoga has become particularly important for both her physical and mental wellbeing, while boxing has previously served a similar purpose. “I like doing it for fitness, and I like doing it just to kind of clear my mind,” she has said of boxing.
What Dua Lipa eats
Despite the discipline required to maintain her performance schedule, Dua has never advocated depriving herself of the foods she enjoys. “I try and stay as healthy as possible whenever I can,” she previously explained, while adding: “I’m never one to stop myself having treats.”
She has said she tends to limit richer treats to less demanding days because she needs plenty of energy when working, while bananas with cashew butter have previously been among her favorite pre-workout snacks.
