Dylan Dreyer has marked another new “first” following her separation from Brian Fichera.
The Today Show star took to Instagram over the weekend to share some adorable new photos featuring her three young sons, Calvin, Oliver and Rusty, during a trip to the ice rink on Valentine’s Day.
“My Valentines! Also, the Olympics have us overestimating our skills…” she wrote alongside the post.
Along with some pictures of her children smiling on the rink, Dylan also posted footage of them skating. In one clip, Rusty, four, fell over, but quickly got back up smiling.
Fans adored seeing the new family update, with one writing: “Such wonderful photos they are soooo cute, such a special Valentine’s day,” while another wrote: “I applaud Rusty’s perseverance.” A third added: “Spending time with your boys is the best way to spend Valentine’s Day!”
Dylan – who announced her separation from Brian in July – recently caught up with HELLO! at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions in Miami back in January, where she opened up about the idea of dating again.
While bonding over the hit Netflix show, Heated Rivalry, the topic turned to whether the star was open to finding love again. “I would say I’m open to it,” she said, adding: “I don’t know how to do it… it’s been a long time and my focus is on the kids and the family. So if something were to happen organically and it’s easy, you know… but I’m not searching for it. If something happens, I’m open to it.”
She also opened up about being a busy working mom, as she told us that her sons were being taken care of by their grandparents while she was in Miami.
“Everybody’s taken care of and I get to enjoy myself here, but day to day it’s busy and I rest my head on the pillow at night,” she said. “I’m tired, but I have young children, you know, and it’s just a season. It goes by fast.”
Following her split, Dylan moved to a new house at the end of 2025, swapping New York City for the suburbs.
The star opened up about the big change on November 5 while talking to co-host Jenna Bush Hager while guest hosting Jenna & Friends.
She explained: “I found this house, and it is so freeing to be renting again because the kids come home with all this stuff. I love school in the suburbs because they’re celebrating all the holidays and they’re coming home with, like, scarecrow drawings and that’s what they’re learning that day.” She added that the house was a rental, and as a result she was using her children’s artwork to decorate it, rather than worrying too much about furnishing it.
“There are leaves on the floor in the living room, and I’m like, I don’t really care that much,” she added.
The children’s author also touched upon co-parenting with Brian. She said that she had asked her oldest son: “I asked Calvin, ‘What do you think a family is?’ And he said, ‘Well, it’s a group of people that love each other.’
“And I said, ‘And that’s what we are, and we will always be that for you. But Mommy and Daddy work better as friends than as husband and wife.’ And he doesn’t care about a title. He doesn’t care what we are officially. None of them do. They are surrounded by love every single day.”
