Elizabeth Hurley is ‘happy and in love’ with Billy Ray Cyrus, but what does her son Damian think of the romance?

Elizabeth Hurley and her son Damian share a very close relationship. So when the actress announced her new romance with country music legend Billy Ray Cyrus, fans were interested to know how Damian felt about the relationship.

The actress and the singer stunned the internet when they went public with their relationship by posting a cozy photo together on social media, causing mixed reactions from fans and followers. While some online users were not exactly thrilled with Elizabeth’s new beau, others shared their support.

Meanwhile, Damian is fully on board with his mom’s happiness. A source revealed to Hello! magazine that “Damian loves Billy Ray and is thrilled to see his mother happy and in love.”

Damian first met Billy when the country star was cast as Elizabeth’s love interest in the 2022 film ‘Paradise in Christmas.’ According to insiders, the connection was instant, and Damian was quick to notice the chemistry between his mom and Billy.

A friend close to the family shared with The Sun: “Damian has met Billy and is a big fan. They really hit it off when they hung out on set. All Damian wants is for his mum to be happy, and he saw their spark straight away.”

Another insider shared different thoughts on the new romance. “Damian has always been Liz’s number one. She raised him on her own for 23 years, and his blessing is the most important thing to her. In the past, her relationship with men has struggled due to the strength of her bond with Damian.”

Despite these concerns, Damian recently spent time with Elizabeth and Billy Ray at his Tennessee home. After a weekend together, Damian shared several photos from the visit, including some of him posing inside the stables. “Tennessee you have my hearttt,” he captioned the post with a heart emoji.

Elizabeth also posted more pictures from her time in Tennessee with Billy Ray, showing the couple looking very happy as they spent time together on his property. “Tennessee weekend,” the actress wrote.

How did the new romantic relationship start?

The star was previously married to multimillionaire Arun Nayar in 2007, and divorced in 2011. Billy Ray, for his part, recently opened up about his new relationship with Elizabeth during an appearance on The Ty Bentli Show.

He explained that their romance blossomed after a difficult period in his life, which included a divorce from singer Firerose last year. Recalling the moment Elizabeth reached out to him, Billy Ray shared: “A friend reached out and said, ‘Hey, it looks like life might be a little tough, and I just wanted you to know I’m in your corner.’”

He admitted that at first, he didn’t recognize the number but was surprised when he found out it was Elizabeth. “There was a chemistry between us on set, and we just laughed a lot,” he said. “We had more in common than we expected.”

Billy Ray praised Elizabeth as “a great human being,” comparing her to Dolly Parton. He added, “If you can laugh together, you can make it through anything.” A source told Us Weekly: “They really understand each other. Liz is compassionate, which Billy Ray adores.”
