Elsa Pataky is sharing an inside look at her marriage with Chris Hemsworth. The actress was recently in her hometown of Spain, promoting her new TV show, “Matices.” In an appearance on the TV show “El Hormiguero,” Pataky shared details of her relationship with Hemsworth, including the one rule they broke in their marriage.
While speaking to the show’s hosts, Pataky revealed that she and Hemsworth have always had one golden rule in their marriage: always trying to keep their time apart to a minimum.
“We promised each other that three weeks would be the most we spend apart,” she said in Spanish. “But we’ve spent up to two months without seeing each other. But that was only once!”
Pataky revealed that the nature of their work and the traveling that’s involved can be very challenging. “It’s tough, it becomes long, and the worst part is that you end up getting used to each other’s absence,” she said.
© AFP via Getty ImagesShe also opened up about the start of her relationship with Hemsworth, revealing that while the two had trouble understanding each other’s English accents, she managed to make a favorable impression by arriving at the date on a motorcycle.
Pataky revealed that what first attracted her to Hemsworth was his voice. “I still love it,” she said, smiling.
Pataky’s new opportunities as her kids have grown up
© WireImageNow that her kids are older, Pataky has enjoyed getting back to work on different projects, including a Spanish TV show that she shot in Spain over six weeks. She revealed that it took her kids growing up a bit more for her to feel comfortable taking on these larger parts.
“I’ve spent a lot of time dedicated to my role as a mother, which I’ve enjoyed so much, but now that my kids are older and more independent, and they don’t miss me as much, it’s okay. A new door has opened and I’m calm because I know that they’re happy,” she said.
Pataky and Hemsworth share three kids: India, 13, and twins Sasha and Tristan, 11.
