Eva Longoria leans back and tosses out a wish that feels both mischievous and totally relatable: “I want my 20-year-old body with my 50-year-old mind. Wouldn’t that be great?” she told The Times. She’s spent two decades being asked about ageing ever since “Desperate Housewives” rocketed her to fame at 29, and she’s reached the point where the question practically earns its own eye roll.
“We’re all ageing. It’s happening, so you have no choice but to embrace it.” For her, ageing well isn’t about chasing youth; it’s about keeping life in motion. She wants to hike, run up stairs, and still haul around her seven-year-old son, Santiago.
A 50th Birthday Tour Worthy of a Star
Longoria didn’t quietly slip into her fifties. She threw herself a multi-city birthday extravaganza that circled the globe. “Miami, Mexico, LA, France. Did you not see? People were sick of me,” she joked to The Times. Her milestone birthday wasn’t a crisis moment. It was a victory lap.
But one thing that did change with age was her priorities. Every job she takes now revolves around her son. “My family is my priority, so if I’m saying yes to something and it’s taking time away from them, it’s got to be something I’m really going to enjoy and people I really want to work with,” she says.
It’s not the Hollywood norm, but Longoria isn’t trying to follow anyone’s blueprint. Becoming a mother at 43 restructured her entire perspective.

“You have so much more wisdom and patience when you become a mother in your forties,” she says, reflecting on the decision that reshaped her life. Before her son, it was all about work, travel, ambition, and movement. “Forty years of me was enough time,” she laughs. She had checked every box on her career list.
