Looking for your next TV binge? Netflix viewers have been loving The Art of Sarah, an eight-part mystery thriller that is currently sitting at number four on the streamer’s global Top 10 TV chart.
The South Korean series follows Sarah Kim, an ambitious and “gutsy” young woman who does everything in her power to live a life of luxury. Written by Chu Song-yeon and directed by Kim Jin-min (Butterfly, Marriage Contract), the series is the latest South Korean hit to land on Netflix.
It’s no surprise that viewers are loving The Art of Sarah. Not only does the show feature the twists and turns that K-dramas are known and loved for, but it also boasts a compelling leading performance by Shin Hye-sun, which many viewers have praised as “incredible”.

After landing on Netflix on 13 February, viewers quickly took to X, formerly Twitter, to share their thoughts on the thriller.
“A very binge-worthy series, with great rewatch potential to get the most out of the plot twists,” said one viewer, while another penned: “The suspense? 10/10. The visuals? Stunning. The tension? Unmatched. The Art of Sarah is THAT K-drama.”
Meanwhile, one reviewer on IMDb hailed it as “a masterpiece painted with emotion”, while a fourth added: “This is an exceptional drama, maybe one of the best.”
What is The Art of Sarah about?
Told over eight parts, the series centres around American-born Sarah Kim, a mysterious young woman who rises through the ranks of high society as a luxury executive at Boudoi.
But when her dead body is discovered in a Seoul sewer, the detective assigned to her case discovers that she wasn’t who she claimed to be. The Netflix synopsis continues: “What he discovers is a fractured portrait of a passionate career woman who’d do anything to make her luxury business a success – even if it means adopting deception as a core business strategy.”
Who stars in The Art of Sarah?
Shin Hye-sun (My Golden Life, Stranger, Innocence) plays Sarah Kim, while Lee Joon-hyuk (Stranger, Love Scout) stars as Detective Park Mu-gyeong.
They’re joined by Park Bo-kyung (Squid Game) as Jeong Yeo-jin, Kim Jae-won (Hierarchy) as Kang Ji-hwon and Jung Jin-young (Sweet Home) as Hong Seong-shin.
Rounding out the cast are Bae Jong-ok (Mr. Queen) as Choi Chae-woo and Lee E-dam (Can This Love Be Translated?) as Kim Mi-jeong.
