Queen Silvia of Sweden had a tiara moment on TV! Her Majesty surprised actor and designer Christer Lindarw on the Vilket liv! (What a life!) program, which celebrated the performer who has imitated the Swedish Queen.

According to TV4, the first time Christer imitated Silvia was in 1977 when the actor handed a single rose to King Carl XVI Gustaf‘s wife during a performance. Her Majesty, 81, returned the gesture all these years later on What a life!. The Swedish Queen appeared on stage at the Oscar Theater in Stockholm, dressed in a yellow gown and the Napoleonic Cut-Steel Tiara (via The Court Jeweller), with a single rose for a shocked Christer.

“You have imitated me many times,” the Queen told Christer, per TV4 and translated to English. “I want to thank you for your kindness, that you made everyone laugh, not just the king and me – all of Sweden of course. Now it’s like I would like to give you a rose, because you did all the shows and always so friendly and with warmth. From one queen to another queen.”

Recalling meeting Silvia on the program, Christer later told TV4: “All the blood disappeared from my head.”

In early May, the Christer Lindarw Design Instagram account shared pictures from the Queen’s upcoming appearance on Vilket liv!. The caption alongside the post read (translated to English): “Now it’s finally public. The reason I’ve been floating on clouds for almost 2 months. Her Majesty Queen Silvia paid tribute to me in the TV program “What a life”. She made a moving speech, and handed me a rose. Just like I did for the Queen 1977. See the last black and white picture. And also on the same stage at the Oscar theater. A huge acknowledgment for me, After Dark and the entire gay community. Extremely honored and glorious ❤️. To be broadcast on May 31 on TV4. @kungahuset @oscarsteatern @tv4.”

On Instagram, the Swedish Royal Court shared a clip of the Queen surprising Christer, in addition to pictures of the two receiving roses from each other almost 50 years apart. “An important and touching gesture, human to human, queen to queen. Magnificent, powerful, wonderful! ❤️,” drag artist Robert Fux commented on the Royal House’s video (translated to English), while Vilket liv! host Renée Nyberg wrote (translated to English): “Warm thanks from our entire editorial team. The Queen’s presence was a great honor for all of us and testifies to both Christer’s importance and the Queen’s great generosity and warmth🙏♥️.”
