Gabriel Luna is joining the cast of Dexter: Resurrection. The 43-year-old actor will be appearing in the upcoming second season of the Paramount+ series.
As reported by Variety, Gabriel will be playing Ray Ballard, a serial killer operating under the name The Sleepy-Eyed Stranger. His character will go up against series lead Michael C. Hall, who is once again reprising his role as serial killer murderer Dexter.
Long-running show
It comes after the launch of the original Dexter series, which stretched for eight seasons on Showtime from 2006 to 2013.
Dexter: Resurrection picks up the story of its titular anti-hero, with Dexter Morgan waking from a coma after being shot by his son Harrison. He travels to New York in search of his boy – before his past starts to haunt him.
Gabriel is best known for playing Tommy Miller in HBO’s The Last of Us, the Rev-9 Terminator in Terminator: Dark Fate (2019), and Robbie Reyes/Ghost Rider in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D..

Born in Austin, Texas, he began his career on stage before transitioning into film and television.
His notable television credits include leading roles in the action drama Matador and the crime anthology Wicked City, as well as a recurring role in season two of True Detective. He recently wrapped filming for season two of Prime Video’s conspiracy thriller The Terminal List.

Gabriel Luna made his mark in the Marvel universe as Robbie Reyes, aka Ghost Rider, in ABC’s Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. His performance became one of the fourth season’s biggest highlights during its 2016 to 2017 run, introducing audiences to a fresh take on the iconic antihero.
Rather than portraying the traditional motorcycle-riding Johnny Blaze, Luna played Robbie Reyes, a young mechanic from East Los Angeles who drove a flaming 1969 Dodge Charger known as the “Hell Charger.” Across 10 episodes, he teamed up with S.H.I.E.L.D. agents to battle supernatural and technological threats while struggling to control his demonic curse and protect his younger brother, Gabe.

Due to the popularity of his character, Marvel Television and Hulu officially announced a solo standalone Ghost Rider series in 2019, with Gabriel set to return to the lead role. But when Marvel Television was absorbed into Marvel Studios under Kevin Feige, the project was unfortunately cancelled before filming began.
