Garth Brooks‘ daughter Allie Colleen has received criticism after fans claimed she made her Dolly Parton tribute about herself.
The 30-year-old was accused of being “utterly ridiculous” when she used her tribute to reflect on her own fears about one day losing her dad.
“My greatest fear in life is the day my Dad loses his life and I have to see the world mourn a man they never knew the way I knew him,” the 30-year-old wrote on Instagram on Tuesday.
“To the personal family and friends of Mrs. Dolly you have all my love and condolences today and forever going forward.”
She added: “What a huge, beautiful, special life to have loved and to grieve. Thank you for sharing her with us all.”
Captioning the post, Allie penned: “What a beautiful privilege it is to mourn.. to grieve is to know you loved deeply and fully.
“To the woman we all love, and all those who grieve for her— I love you all. Please respect the family and her personal friends.”
Despite Allie’s good intentions, several of her followers slammed her for making the post about herself and her father.
“An utterly ridiculous comment to make. This is not about you or your father,” one responded.

A third added: “That’s kinda insinuating like none of us have loved our dads as much as you love yours? Loss is loss. Everyone who has experienced it can relate,” to which Allie replied: “I would never act like I understand how much you grieve anyone – that’s all I am saying.
“I would never act like I understand how you feel the day you lose your person, so I would expect the same respect that you don’t know how I feel the day I lose mine,” she added.

Another said: “Not sure why you’re getting dumped on over this. Nothing wrong with what you said. People just look for things to get mad at these days.”

“After bravely facing a brief battle with cancer, Dolly departed her Earthly life today at the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center surrounded by loved ones,” Marcel’s statement read.
