Bad Bunny keeps making history…and in a major way. Just hours before his highly anticipated Super Bowl LX halftime performance, the singer has received a special honor from the governor of California.
Gavin Newsom has officially declared February 8 as “Bad Bunny Day” statewide, a date that coincides with the first time the artist headlines the halftime show at the biggest event in American football.
Through his X account, the politician shared a statement saying he was a “tremendous fan of Spanish” and of the people of Puerto Rico, Bad Bunny’s home. With that, the governor declared February 8 the official day of the “Bad Bunny”.

“As many of you know, I’m a huge fan of Spanish. It’s a beautiful language spoken by so many wonderful people in California and around the world. I’m also a huge fan of Puerto Rico,” his message begins.
“That’s why I declare tomorrow in California as ‘Bad Bunny Day,’ when Bad Bunny takes the stage at the Golden State’s big game with his smooth and charming voice, and his undeniable appeal. People can’t stop talking about him, according to my ‘boys’ and ‘girls’! (Jesse Waters is obsessed with him almost as much as he is with me!). We love Bad Bunny! HE’S ALMOST AS ‘HOT’ AS I AM, WHICH IS A HUGE COMPLIMENT, BECAUSE THERE’S NO ONE ELSE AS ‘HOT.’ HAPPY BAD BUNNY DAY, AMERICA! ENJOY IT!, GOVERNOR GCN.”
