George Clooney’s Golden Globes return is one of the night’s most anticipated moments

The Golden Globes are this Sunday, January 11, and it’s going to be one of the most star-studded nights of the year, with A-list names gathered in the same place for the first time in years. It’s gearing up to be an epic night, and one of the names that keeps coming to everyone’s mind, including Nikki Glaser, is George Clooney.

Clooney’s appearance at the Golden Globes this year is huge because he hasn’t been there in over a decade.

The last time George was there was in 2015, when he was honored with the Cecil B. DeMille Award for lifetime achievement. His speech, in which he spoke about his wife, Amal Clooney, is still remembered as one of the best.

The 64-year-old actor is nominated this year for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, Jay Kelly. The character-driven musical comedy blends humor with heart, and centers on identity, aging, and second chances. 

“The themes in this movie have nothing to do with fame,” Clooney told Netflix. “They’re about every decision that every one of us has to make.” It also marks his first collaboration with Adam Sandler, who is also nominated for Best Supporting Actor.

Clooney is a 14-time Golden Globe nominee and a 3-time winner:
