Gypsy Rose Blanchard is getting candid about her recent weight loss, and according to her, there’s no secret diet, medication, or intense fitness routine behind it.
The 34-year-old took to social media this week to step on a scale in a video for followers, revealing she now weighs 108.2 pounds. But the bigger conversation quickly became how she got there.
“Okay y’all, I’m not gatekeeping. My weight loss came from life circumstances,” she explained in the caption. “After being released two years ago my lifestyle changed a lot — from commissary junk food to home-cooked meals and trying new foods. I don’t follow a workout routine (though I’d love one), I don’t limit my diet, and I don’t use GLP-1. I wasn’t actively trying to lose weight… my whole life just changed and adjusted to freedom.”
The former inmate has been slowly opening up about how her life has shifted since leaving prison in December 2023 after serving time for her role in the murder of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard – a case that captivated the public and later inspired multiple documentaries and the Hulu series The Act.
For Gypsy Rose, the biggest difference seems to be the simple routines many people take for granted, like cooking at home, exploring new foods, and having control over what she eats.
She first started addressing the noticeable weight change in April 2025, about three months after welcoming her daughter Aurora with boyfriend Ken Urker. At the time, she told fans the transformation wasn’t the result of a strict plan either.
“I’ve seen a lot of comments of people asking how I lost the weight so my weight loss journey started once getting out of prison. So when I started eating healthier instead of prison food, the weight begin to fall off,” she wrote in the comments of an Instagram post showing side-by-side photos.
She added that she had also shifted her eating habits slightly, saying she began “eating twice a day” with “smaller portions.”
Beyond the weight loss, Gypsy Rose has also been sharing some of her recent hobbies, like dancing. This has also probably helped her lose some weight. On Tuesday, the 34-year-old shared a video from TikTok showing off some of her skills.
However, some were not impressed by her moves. “The cringe is cringing,” and “Giirl… lol just stoppp” are among some of the top comments. But some people were cheering her on, like one person who wrote, “You’re living the childhood you never had, you look good.”
