Hailee Steinfeld is embracing the romance this Valentine’s Day — and she’s ready to make it extra special for her husband.
The actress, who is currently expecting her first child with the Buffalo Bills star, recently shared that Josh has a specific request for their Feb. 14 celebration — and she’s happy to make it happen.
“We’re still working on our Valentine’s Day dinner/menu situation,” the 29-year-old wrote in the Feb. 13 edition of her Beau Society newsletter, alongside a list of recipes she’s been considering. “Plus some Angel Margarita, requested by my husband.”
Hailee also passed along a tip from Josh for making the drink even better, encouraging fans to try it “with some Tajín on the rim” to enhance the lime flavor.
Although the mom-to-be won’t be enjoying Angel Margaritas herself this year, she’s still excited about the rest of their meal. Whether it ends up being spaghetti, pizza, or steak, she’s looking forward to sharing the experience together.
More than anything, Hailee says her excitement comes from her love of the holiday itself.
“The simple fact that I love love and any excuse to celebrate it: romantic, platonic, self-love, dog love…it all plays.”
Thankfully, she has a partner who’s just as willing to lean into the festivities.
“A cherry on top is having a husband who not only tolerates my enthusiasm for this holiday but genuinely leans into it with me,” she shared. “Lucky for me, he’s also perfectly satisfied with the version of the day that results in both of us in sweats on the couch doing a whole lot of nothing.”
Ideally, Hailee hopes their Valentine’s Day will include watching the sunrise, soaking in a long bath, reading side-by-side, and baking chocolate chip cookies together.
Since getting married last May, the couple has also found ways to stay connected despite their busy and sometimes conflicting schedules.
“I don’t want it to seem cliché,” she wrote in a Feb. 6 Q&A for Beau Society, “but we focus on being truly present with each other.”
“More specifically, we’re big on weekly date nights,” she added, “and going no phones for an hour at the end of the day.”
