Heather Graham let fans inside her stunning NYC penthouse apartment during an interview with YouTuber Caleb Simpson in March, and let slip that the mortgage repayments on the house are surprisingly affordable.
The actress, who is set to star in the upcoming fourth season of the hit HBO show The White Lotus, has lived in the apartment for almost 25 years, and pays just $3,500 a month in repayments thanks to her long ownership of the property.
“My mortgage is really low now, actually,” Heather admitted, before revealing that she actually moved into the home the day after the 9/11 attacks on the Twin Towers.
“I bought it right before September 11,” she told the YouTube star. “And the day that I was moving in, I had my key, and it was September 11th. And I was at the Toronto Film Festival, and it was like 8 a.m., I’m like, ‘Today I’m moving into my new apartment!'”
“And then we flew past the two towers, and then we couldn’t come into the city because it was like, you know,” she recalled. “I had to find a place to stay in Long Island, and then I took the subway, and the first day I lived here was September 12, 2001.”
The 56-year-old’s abode is full of spiritual motifs and artworks, like the large statue of Vishnu, a Hindu deity. “This is like Vishnu, he’s the protector of the universe,” she explained. “I told my interior designer, Gillian Lefkowitz, that I wanted a world traveler vibe. I’m into spiritual stuff, like yoga.”
“I want my apartment to feel like a peaceful oasis. You can be on vacation when you’re home,” the Boogie Nights star added.
Heather then took Caleb on a tour around her home, and showcased the green-tiled kitchen with a large dining table suitable for a bevy of guests. “I like cooking for people. When I cook for people, I want it to feel nurturing,” she said, before Caleb noted that cooking for others was a “motherly” trait.
“I don’t have kids,” Heather clarified. “People always ask. I feel like people are just like, ‘Why would a woman not want to have kids?’ I feel like the younger generation is a little more open-minded about it.”
“They’re just like, ‘Yeah, I want to’ or ‘I don’t want to.’ No judgment either way.” The living area features light-colored furnishings, bright rugs and patterned décor. Inside her bedroom, Heather pointed out the stunning skylight that brightened up the room, as well as the elaborate headboard and large walk-in closet.
The blonde beauty’s NYC home is now worth a reported $3 million, adding to her $20 million net worth. She also owns a mid-century modern home in Brentwood, Los Angeles, worth $3.7 million. Heather’s apartment tour comes just days after the star announced her role in the upcoming fourth season of The White Lotus, which will film in France.
The anthology series follows wealthy guests and staff at various hotels in The White Lotus chain around the world, and each season typically revolves around a murder. “Thanks Mike White for adding me to the Season Four cast of @thewhitelotus. Excited to work with you!…France in the summer…” Heather wrote on Instagram.
