Over the years, Heidi Klum has become synonymous with her blonde bombshell locks. The supermodel’s lowlights blend seamlessly with her naturally darker roots to create texture and depth to her hair.
That’s not to say the German native shies away from changing her look. Over the years, she’s experimented with everything from choppy bangs to a sleek pixie cut. Still, it’s her rich brunette hair from the early Noughties that remains indelibly etched in the minds of beauty enthusiasts.
Heidi took to her Instagram Stories on February 20 to remind her fans that she was once a member of the dark side. The supermodel shared a throwback photograph of herself taken at the 2002 Brit Awards. At the time, Heidi sported a brunette mid-cut with added layers framed by full wispy bangs.
For the event, Heidi rocked two scene-stealing ensembles. The first was a gray midi dress that was layered over an exposed black lace bra and adorned with lace detailing on the bodice. The following outfit consisted of a colorful, sequin-embellished gown that boasted a plunging neckline with flared sleeves.
Heidi was the spitting image of her daughter, Leni Klum, in the throwback photographs. The 21-year-old has luscious, long brunette tresses that she often styles into soft waves.
Leni was first approached by a modeling scout at the age of 12; however, her mom would not allow her to sign. It wasn’t until Leni was 16 that Heidi allowed her to make her debut alongside her for Vogue Germany.

In an interview with People Magazine, she said: “I get so excited when I see my daughters re-wearing my clothes.My eldest daughter, she also is a model, and she goes to events and when she wears my clothes I’m not just proud but we can upcycle.”
“I’m passing clothes down to my kids. I think it’s so important also to keep wearing your things,” she added. “I think in the past, we’d wear something once and then we’d never wear it again, and it’s so wrong to do.”
