Here’s why she is happier than ever

Angelina Jolie is beaming with pride, and this time it has nothing to do with her Hollywood career. The Oscar-winning actress and humanitarian is celebrating a personal milestone as her daughter Zahara’s final year of college. For Jolie, this chapter feels monumental not just because of the degree Zahara will soon hold, but because of the extraordinary woman she’s becoming along the way.

Walking the red carpet at the Couture premiere during the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival, Jolie paused to share a heartfelt glimpse into her family life. Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, she revealed how much Zahara’s journey has inspired her.

“My daughter is in her final year of college, and I feel that I have the great gift of being able to learn from her and live this stage indirectly,” Jolie said. She described the experience as “incredible,” marveling at how much joy and freedom Zahara has embraced throughout her years at school.

For Jolie, who has always kept her role as a mother at the center of her life, watching her children find their independence has been deeply rewarding.

Zahara, now 20, attends Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia, one of the most prestigious historically Black colleges in the United States. Since enrolling, she has thrown herself into campus life, including joining a sorority. For Zahara, this experience was about community, leadership, and leaving her mark on the world.

Jolie has often praised her children for their individuality, and Zahara is no exception. Her dedication to both education and activism reflects values her mother has long championed. It’s no surprise that Jolie takes immense pride in seeing her daughter thrive in such an empowering environment.

The Woman Emerging

“The best part is that she’ll come back even more of a woman, even more mentally sharp,” Jolie shared with a smile. “People are going to learn so much from this extraordinary person she is becoming.” Zahara has already shown a strong sense of purpose, and Jolie believes the world will one day feel her impact.

Raising six children, Jolie has long encouraged each of them to forge their own paths. From Maddox’s studies in South Korea to Zahara’s experience at Spelman, she has supported their decisions wholeheartedly. Instead of pushing them into the spotlight, she has chosen to nurture their individuality and independence.
